We have a new Canon MP190 printer. Cannot figure out how to install the print cartridges. I already hate this printer. I'm accustomed to HP ink jet printer. And while it takes some doing to get the cartridges in place, at least it is clear how to do it. The cartridges are labeled A and B but I cannot see how to install them.

If you are trying to figure out how to load your ink cartridge in you Canon Pixma follow these instructions.
Make sure you printer is powered on. Open the top cover including the key display.
Allow the ink return to move to left and stop. Remove the old cartridge which should have a 40 Black or 40 color on it by pushing down and popping it out of the holder.
Now open your new ink cartridge and tear off the protective stip from the ink cartridge.
Place the new ink cartridge in at a downward angle and then push into a straight position by pushing the bottom into place.
Close the top an allow for the printer to adjust into place. Do a test print to make sure the printer is working correctly.
If you experience an error message refer to your canon guide book for troubleshooting tips. Be sure your new ink cartridge in placed in correctly. Should be next to the other ink cartridge in same alignment.
Installing a new cartridge in your computer printer is quite easy. First of all it is
recommended that you buy new cartridges every time you run out of ink
instead of refilling it. Refilling cartridges will have negative impact not just on
the paper but on the printer too. It has been reported that refilled cartridges
have ruined many printers. After you buy the new cartridges, remove the old ones
Remember the printer should be turned off before going any
further. Install the new ones in the empty slot and turn on the printer. Remove
a test page from the printer and check whether the new inks work or not. The first one or two times the ink might be
a little smudge but that's all right. It will become normal again after one or
two print outs. If the problem persists, exchange the inks with your retailer.
well, you need to get NEW cartridges because there is a NON-resetable ink level sensor, once that detect no ink is left in the cartridge, it reports a empty cartridge to the printer, no way to change that, the only fix is to replace the cartridge with a new one, on epson printers you can reset the sensor, most other brands you cant
The Canon rep told you the correct information. The printer companies have included circuits on their cartridges that will not allow you to refill them. The printer reads the code and knows that the cartridge already ran out of ink. To date no one has figured out a hack for this issue.
