Question about GE Microwave Ovens
I have a GE JE1640WB microwave oven, built in 1999. The microwave was working fine and the next day, it will not heat anything at all. The microwave is running, just not heating anything. What do you think? The microwave is almost 10 years old. Time to get a new one?
Yeah, it's time to invest in a new oven. The magnetron tube in yours most likely just finally wore out. It's the source of the microwaves, and like any tube it gets weaker with age and finally just quits altogether. It would cost more for a new magnetron than it would for a new oven these days.
