Is this printer wireless? or do I have to use the usb cabl to print?

it seems that wireless is not supported, and you must use a USB cable. Check that the connectors are the correct ones; printer accepts a type B ('house') male connector (plug)
If uncertain consult Lexmark support, or the manual for this printer. Information (including probably a manual) can quickly be obtained from the webpage
All Products Printers MultiFunction Lexmark X2650 Lexmark

The image shows two connectors (which may be on either end of a single cable, and what I think you need) lower is type B (printer end) , upper is type A (computer end, most commonly). Available in various lengths, you need USB 2.0 spec.

Reset my Dell 926 all in one printer

Hi,

The Dell 926 printer is an All-In-One model that you can use as a printer, scanner and a fax machine. When the printer becomes unresponsive there may be a communication problem between the printer and your computer. To correct this type of problem you need to first verify that the USB connector cable is not malfunctioning. You can do this by resetting the communication settings between the computer and the printer.

Which usb cable do I need to get to connect my lexmark 910 series printer to my computer. Although I bought it from a reputable photographic shop, no usb cable came with the printer.

Hi, you'll need an A-to-B USB cable. The type A connector (the long flat one) connects to your PC, and the type B connector (the squarish looking one with two cut-off corners) connects to the printer. The cable should look like this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812107319&cm_re=usb_cable_2.0-_-12-107-319-_-Product

It should be USB 2.0 rather than 1.1, and it should be long enough to reach from your computer to your printer, with a little bit of slack.

Hope that helps!

I've lost the cord that connects the printer to the computer. What type of cord do I need?

You need a standard USB printer cable. It will have a different type of connector on each end. The end that plugs into your computer is Connector 1: USB Type A Male

The end that plugs into your printer is
Connector 2: USB Type B Male

How can i hook up my printer to my computer

Most printers either have at least one of:
* parallel-connector, requiring a "parallel-printer" cable,
* a USB-connector, requiring a "USB-printer" cable.

So, connect the correct cable to your printer,
and connect the other end to a "parallel" or "USB" connector on your computer.

Printer cable question

There's no difference. You need a USB cable with two different connectors, the "A" [flat connector] connects to the computer's USB port and the "B" [square connector] connects to the printer. If there's a standard for expressing this, it seems to be ignored - AB, A/B, ab, and a-b all are used. Cameras use a cable with A and mini-B connectors. Can i use any usb cord to plug my printer into tower? Moved and found power cord but not other and i forgot what it looks like.

There are various types of USB cables for various purposes.
You need to look at the USB connector on the printer and the computer.
The USB connector on the computer will be a female connector approx 13mm x 5mm and have 4 contacts on one side.
The printer USB connector most likely will be a female connector approx 9mm x 7 mm and two corners have a small chamfer.
The printer cable will most likely be 4 pin USB A male to B male type.

You've mention, "you folowed instructions i.e. disconnect the cables. restart computer etc. Did you try selecting the ports? Are you using a serial connector or a USB connector? There is a printer port on the PC, serial connector is needed , right click on printer icon and go to properties and check ports if LPT1 is selected. if not It should be checked. Try this. and make sure the printer is on for the PC to communicate with the printer. Try this. cheers.select the ports

Want to connect to my computer

What connector/interface does your PC has
9-pin or 25-pin connector

If it has 9-pin connector: use the following:
DB-9 RS-232 Serial Connection
or
DB-25 RS-232 Serial Connection

If it has 25-pin connector: use the following:
DB-25 Serial Connection
or
DB-25 RS-232 Serial Connection

If you are configuring the computer to use an RS-422A serial port, you need a special cable. Contact the computer or printer network manufacturer to see if an RS-422A cable is available. If no cable is available, contact your computer manufacturer for your computer pin assignments and have a cable constructed.

The default configuration for the serial port on the printer is for RS-232C serial communication. To set the printer to use RS-422A serial communication, change the control panel Serial Menu’s SERIAL setting to SERIAL=RS-422.
