Gas leaf blower runs at half speed

I left some gasoline in My Homelite Mighty Lite 26B gas leaf blower which hung in the unheated garage over the winter. After draining the gasoline and putting in fresh gas and the recommended oil mixture, I found that the machine won't run at full speed, and operates best at half choke position. I would like to clean it, but I don't have any cleaning instructions. Thanks for any suggestions. Steve

First you will have to get a carburetor kit ,it consists of diaprams and inlet needle, you then remove the two srews that hold carburetor on the engine and remove gas lines, also the throttle cable remove screws that hold ends of carburetor on under these you will find the diaphrams and needle remove these be carefull not to loose the little spring under the needle lever.
!get you a can of carburetor cleaner and spray carburetor the blow it out with air you will notice little jets in carburetor that have to be clean use a wire from a bread tie to clean them out install new gaskets and diaprams in same position you took old ones off.you can also look at carburetor to see what kind it is walbor, zama, tilloson? type the name in google search and can get a diagram of carburetor if you loose your place,or just ask me.

I have a craftsman 2 cycle 25cc hand held leaf blower. Before storing it for the winter I ran the fuel dry. Upon refueling it and trying to start it with the choke on it will run but when I shut off the choke or move the throtle to the run setting the motor stalls.I believe that the problem maybe related to the carberator and would like to clean it.Could you possibly instruct me as to how remove and clean the carberator on a small 2 cycle motor like this. Thank you Joe Gulick

I do not know the oil-to-gas ratio to mix/buy. My husband passed away, and I cannot find the manual. Help, please. THANK YOU

Can you find the model number on the Homelite Mighty Lite BlowerVac?

For the UT08520 and UT08921 26cc blowers and the UT08550 and UT08951 blower vacs, you can mix the Homelite Premium Exact Lubricant with gasoline following the label directions. For other synthetic oil additives, use 2.6 oz of additive per 1 gallon of gasoline. (It's 20ml to 1 l if you use the metric system.) That's a 50:1 ratio (gasoline to additive).

Many Homelite Blower manuals are available here: http://manuals.homelite.com/documents?page=5 . You should try to find your exact model and then check the manual to confirm that your model blower vac uses this same ratio of oil to gasoline. You will need Adobe Reader or a similar program to read the manual.

I hope this helps.

Homelite mighty lite 26bv gas Blower won't run full speed or only in Full Choke

Sounds like a lean condition. Rebuild carb, replace fuel lines and fuel filter and you should be ready to blow the leaves.

I just need a manual for the Homelite Mighty Lite Gas Powered Blower Vac.

Do you have your model number?

You should be able to find your manual on this site:

http://www.homelite.com/service_support/product_owners_manuals

The manuals are listed by their model number rather than their marketing name. Look for the serial number plate which should also have the model number.

Thank you for using FixYa!

How much oil do you use? in the mighty lite

Homelite Mighty Lite engines require the gas/oil ratio to be mixed at 50:1. That is 2.6 ounces of oil per gallon or 1.3 ounces of 2 stroke oil per half gallon of gas. I recommend using synthetic oil. It lubricates much better, allows the engine to run cooler and smokes less.

My homelite might lite 26b will run in the choke position but cuts off in the run position. I have drained the gas and put in fresh gas, new plug and opened the carburetor and cleaned it.

if it seems low on power, remove the muffler and clean out all carbon build-up,if it has power as in full throttle, then the carb is still dirty and needs to be rebuilt
