Question about Kenmore Refrigerators
Kenmore sode by side with ice maker inside the freezer part. Ice maker has not worked for years. The last few days food below the ice maker has been thawing and today I notices the bottom of the ice maker was hot--really hot to touch. About 45 minutes later, I checked it ans it was no longer hot. (I pushed the knob for the size of ice from large to small when I discovered it was hot.) Is there anyway to disengage the power to the ice maker?
Yes you will need to take the screws that mount the Ice maker to the side of the freezer and unplug the cable plug that is hidden behind the back of ice maker. The only time that element is needed to become hot is the moments before the ice maker drops ice. Thanks, Sea Breeze
