Dometic RM2607 Sitting for 6 years now has cooling issue?

I just bought an RV that was sitting untouched in someone's backyard for 6 years and it has a Dometic RM2607. When we first got it the power wouldn't even turn on and after I tinkered with it I got it to come on and the freezer got cold on electric for a while but not the fridge, and now the next day I can't get either to cool on gas or electric. What should I do?

Kinda hard to turn the motorhome on it's roof :P... is that a real solution that's worth taking the fridge out?

    ok, i'll try it, thanks!

well i took the fridge out and let it sit upside down for a few days and then put it back in and liet it sit a few more days and now the problem has changed... Now sometimes when i push the power button only the "on" and temperature setting lights come on, not gas or ac, and sometimes it will seem to work properly and even get to correct temperature on ac then switch back and fourth at random times from ac to gas for no reason and sometimes it will work fine on gas (correct temp too) and for seemingly no reason shut off the gas and the check light will come on... does it sound like i need a new board?

Ok so after all this time I've decided my fridge needs a new control board. Instead of forking out the $150 for the dinosaur board, I decided to go with the $75 Universal Dometic part # 3308741.002. Does anyone know for sure that this will be compatible with my RM2607 fridge? The origional board number is 2931842.03 if that matters.

Ae359t is right replace the board, its not the cooling unit itself nor does it need to be turned over upside down, you only mention the controls are wacky, get the bottom board for the $99 price, if that does not fix the unit replace the upper eyebrow board, very seldon do upper boards go out.

I had the check light problem with our RM2607 but installed a Dinosaur board. After install, no more check light issues. The board is $99 plus shipping from

That's the best price I could find anywhere. Pay the extra for the Dinosaur and skip the generic Dometic board, IMHO.

10 months ago? Do have any warranty on this?
As far as adding refrigerant. Yes - you can add some - but you need to fix the leak first, since it will be quite expensive to keep putting refrigerant in. I would first try to get the mfc repair it and if that fails I would call a serviceperson.
note: fixing a leak and re-charging the system is going to take someone 'very' knowledgable of air conditioners.
good luck!

The fan runs, but doesn't get cold. It is a new Dometic, but has been sitting for 4 yrs. It is on a Gulf Stream (Cavalier) travel trailer.

You'll have to get someone familiar with system to check relays, capacitors, as well as power to compressor. Can be dangerous, so please if not 100% sure what your doing, ask someone who does know.

Just bought a tent trailer with a Dometic Fridge.

You need to make sure that you follow the manufacturer's recommendations for using the unit with each specific power source. It's important that you have the all switches in the proper position, based on what power source you're using.

Here's the manual for your model, save a copy and print it out and take some time to review the section #3 Operating Instructions on page 6.

Hope you find this helpful and will resolve your issue.
