Have you already attempted to reset it while it is connected to power? If you have not due to being unaware of how to perform a reset I have posted a step by step for you below. If this does not resolve your issue please do let me know. This is only the first step of trouble shooting. :)
Last Modified: January 28, 2009 Article: HT1320 Old Article: 61705 Summary Learn how to reset or restart iPod following a freeze.
Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step. Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

Hold the power button and the home button down at the same time for 20 seconds. if it still doesn't power on, try to put it into DFU mode and plug it into iTunes to restore it:
1. Hold the power button and home button for 10 seconds.
2. Let go of the power button and continue holding the power button.

My ipod nano wont do anything

I think your ipod is dead. This happened to me to. I was listening to it when I arrived at my destination, and I thought I turned it off and I put it in my pocket. Later that day when I went to listen to it, it wouldn't turn on at all. Aparently, it had stayed on. Hold the pause button for five to ten seconds. The apple symbol will appear on your ipod. Immeadility put it in your docking station before it goes away. Your ipod will turn on, and itwill start charging.

I hope this helps. Please rate my solution.

Ipod battery will not charge

Reset it. Turn the hold key on and off then hold the central button in for 10 seconds.

If this doesnt fix it send it back to apple by getting a box sent to your address from the apple website. *sigh* This is why I got rid of my ipod, Too many problems and 9 replacements.

My ipod doesnt turn on and nothing works... it doesnt charge and when i plugg it to the computer nothing comes up on itunes so i cant even restore it or anything, ive tried everything... please help

hi,
1. Make sure the Hold switch is off
2. Make sure the battery is charged
3. Reset iPod
4. Let iPod's battery drain
5. Update iPod's software
6. Make sure iPod is the only device in your FireWire or USB chain. Disconnect everything but the mouse, keyboard, and your iPod, then see if it will turn on.
7. Make sure you are using the FireWire or USB cable that came with your iPod, and that the cable is in good condition.
8. Try connecting iPod to the built-in port of a different computer to see if that works.

IF all the above is checked and if ur ipod still remains same please take it to an apple store and check with them!..thank you!!..

Black 80gb ipod Video

Try resetting it. Hold down the Menu and middle button at the same time until the screen gets dark.
If that doesnt work, Restore it. Plug it into the computer and click "restore" when it pops up in itunes. Please note that this will erase all data on the device.
