Hp Designet 500 plotter power supply fan not rotating

Does it show the HP logo at boot up? Does it show an error code? If it boots but fan does not turn then the power supply must be replaced. If it doesn't boot, then the first step is to replace the power supply.

PowerMac G5 Mac Desktop: It will not boot...

Is this a liquid cooled G5? What CPU is it? Need as much info as possible like what where you doing last time it turned on? Have you looked inside the case? Do you hear any clicking when the power cable is connected for the first time? A lot of the last G5's were liquid cooled and a lot have leaked in the past. This small leak eventually ruins the power supply and worse yet ruins the logicboard and CPUs. If you don't know if it is liquid cooled look for a warning stamp on the bottom near front by the CPU fans (inside the case). It states to shut off if liquid is viable (something to that effect). Most times the liquid cannot be seen as it drips into the power supply on the very bottom. I would take it to Apple and have them check it out.

Computer boot problem

Temporarily swapping-in another power-supply is the first thing to try.
Don't connect the disk-drives, CD/DVD drive, nor 3.5-inch drive.
If the computer "beeps", and shows the POST (Power On Self Test) screen, then changing the power-supply is the solution.

Look at the motherboard -- any "blown" or "bulging" capacitors?

Computer Randomly Cuts off

processor overheating. When it gets too hot it automatically shuts your pc down and boots it back up. Even if the fan is running, it could not be supplying enough cool air anymore.

it sounds like your computer power supply went bad.
go to your local computer store and buy a power supply, install it and you should be up and running.

that is if you didn't fry everything from running it without the proper cooling.

make sure that you have proper cooling fans in your computer, a fan outside will not do it.
It sounds like your power supply fan stopped working and it just got to hot and died
