My wife bought home a new computer from her work the other day that her job had given her for free. This computer has a 2.54 processer and 512 MB of Ram, but the only problem is that it is running a system called Ubuntu. I have never heard of this program and after visiting a few sites, I found that it is a program used in africa. I want to take this program off the computer and install windows Xp instead. How do I do this?

It means that your computer is missing a file that windows xp needs to run boot properly or is missing a program that your home edition xp needs. Repairing the OS or windows xp home edition by means of your xp instalation cd will do the job. Just insert your xp installation disk to your cd/dvd rom and select install windows xp home edition. Then select ( repair ), and so on let it finish repairing . Once your system rebooted, let it run without pressing enter or space bar. Just watch and let your computer do the job. This will probably solve your boot problem. But before doing all of this, please check your IDE or SATA cable and also the power cable that is connected to your hard drive. Try to unplug and plug again to ensure a good connection. If this won't work, you can proceed repairing Your windows xp installation or reinstalling a new xp operating system. Have a nice day and i hope i was in any help to you friend.
Try going to dll-files.com and download the necessary file. Copy that file to C:\Windows\System. Hopefully this works for you. If not, you could also reinstall Windows which will reinstall the necessary files.
Bring up Microsoft Help off your stat menu or programs on your start menu. Type in "download drivers for windos xp". You will either be allowed to download free or will be given instructions, which you should print, on how to install the drivers.
well it's pretty easy to explain. the main reason of this thing is windows' 7 kernel. it is built on a different platform than xp and vista. the computer booted faster and closed faster because of the load times: the boot time and the shut down times. it runs more fluent and responds more faster at the commands. it has the xp mode for the programs that can not run on w7. ooh and you will have a greater autonomy with w7
First...you need to clean your "Windows"for unnecessary files.Search on Google for "free windows sweeper"...It a software very useful and free to use. Install the software check options in left panel and push "CLEAN". Second: Search on Google for a software for fix hidden errors(ex: Registry repair or Advanced System Optimizer) both software are 15 or 30 days free to use...And finaly get a antivirus. Nod32 run silent and not "eat" resources of comp....And don't forget START PROGRAMS ACCESORIES-SYSTEM TOOLS-DISK DEFRAG or (my recommendation is to use Advanced System Care. They have a free version very good....After all those things you will have a new computer...more faster....more optimize....Goood Luck!
Install the XP Pro first, install the necessary drivers etc. Then after that load the other disk for windows XP Home install it choose the drive to install the OS, install the necessary drivers etc. you will see two operating system while going to boot section of the computer.
Hi, Unfortunately any of Bernina's software that is older than Version 5 , will not work with Vista. There are some software patches available on the berninausa.com web site, but there is nothing out there that will help you if you have any Version 4 software or older. Version 2 was made back in the Windows 98 days but it should install in a XP computer but you are out of luck with Vista. Microsoft really through out a curve ball to everyone with VISTA as there is a lot of software out there that will not work in that operating system. Actually the lowest cost solution would be to get a nice used computer that runs Windows XP. You do not need a super fast, state of the art computer to run embroidery programs. I bought a nice used computer at a yard sale for $10.00 and it even came with the XP install disk. I replaced the hard drive just because they do wear out after a few years, installed XP in it ann that computer is now in my wife's sewing room and it is only used for her embroidery work. You might have a computer repair shop in your area where you can buy an older XP computer that has been reconditioned. The few dollars you would spend to get an older computer would cost you far less than buying new Bernina Version 5 software. Good luck...bushvideo
