It has a 5 year warranty, so you can just contact the company. The unit has a clock and a timer, so make sure that isn't activated. Also, it has a thermal cut out, so you can dry towels over it, or obstruct it in any way.

They just pull off. Slip a wide blade screwdriver or a couple of blunt butter knives under the edge and lever towards you.

Those units are factory sealed and cannot be filled/refilled...
