Question about Onkyo TX-DS575 Receiver
My receiver isn't responding to my remote controller. I replaced my old remote controller with a new one because I thought the remote was broken. However, the receiver doesn't respond to the new one either.
When remote does not work on its unit that means either remote or Infra Red Sensor (remote sensor) in unit is bad.
You can confirm remote with any digital camera, camcorder or mobile phone camera too.
Watch remote front through camera and press any button on remote, you will notice Front IR LED will blink, that shows remote is working and remote sensor is bad that requires check and replacement.
If you want to check / replace remote sensor in receiver by yourself, you should have fiar knowledge of electronics, tools to check and remove, install new sensor and related service manual that will provide you exploded view how to open receiver, schematics and part list info.
