Question about Kenmore 55612 / 55614 / 5561 / 655619 Side by Side Refrigerator
My Ice is hollow on the inside. can you help with this?
You have too low of water pressure to the fridge. Most common reason for this is wrong type of saddle valve on your water line. Don't use a self-piercing saddle valve. Also, reverse osmosis systems will cause this. If you have an r.o. system it needs to be removed from the fridge. Let me know if you have any questions before you rate the solution. Would appreciate a solved rating for expert advice.

Hollow ice is a sign of not enough water going into tray. Replace the water inlet valve or the fill and shut-off valve for problems with both parts. Hollow ice cubes usually indicate a low water problem. This is generally the result of an excess buildup of calcium and other deposits.Replace the self-piercing shut-off valve with a drill-type shut-off valve.Drill a 1/4-inch hole into the pipe and installs the shut-off valve the same way you would have installed the self-piercing valve.
