It has a defrost problem.  1.  Defrost thermostat  2.  Defrost timer or 3.  Defrost heater.  Let me know if you want me to walk you thru the check out.

Whirlpool refrigerator model WRT314TFDW00 won't keep freezer cold

that's just a top mount fridge so if you don't have any ice on the inside back wall of freezer and the fan and compressor is running you could have a freon leak,is everything running if not what isn't running?if you noticed that it has been getting warmer over time remove everything out of the freezer, remove the back inside wall of the freezer, look at the evaporator coil,if you see ice just on top of the coil where the freon lines connect to the evap coil then you have a freon leak, the coil should have an even frost pattern covering the entire coil,if you hear a clicking sound coming from the back then the compressor might not be running, remove the back bottom cover, there's a start device on the compressor part number WPW10448874 the easiest way to check this part is simply unplug the machine remove the start device off of the compressor and shake it,if you hear pieces jingling inside it the device is cooked, you can check it with a meter, you have to write back and let me or whoever might help you know what is going on with it so we can try to help you out,you write the freezer isn't cold and that can be from alt of things, touch the compressor is it red hot or cold?is it running or not, write back

My freezer is not getting ice

If the freezer is not cold enough you may have a compressor problem. First totally defrost the fridge. then plug the fridge back in and check that the fan in the bottom that cools the compressor is working. the cold control can fail so turn the cold control to the highest setting and note if the compressor stops running before the freezer starts making ice. If the fridge just runs and runs and does not get cold enough to make ice you have a somewhat serious problem. the compressor can be replaced but it is expensive and you might be better off to get a different unit (new or used) that will work correctly. Most used appliance stores will have something that will work well and won't cost that much.

Refrig temp not cold enough..drinks are almost warm

5 reasons for fridge and/or freezer getting warm: 1- the evaporator coils are icing up and won?t let air circulate. 2- the evaporator fan is not working to circulate air. 3- there is no refrigerant in the system. 4- no power to fridge or compressor. 5- the condenser coils have no air circulation check under the fridge behind the vent. if it is too dusty or the fan isn?t working, it is not getting enough airflow to cool down. replace fan and/or vacuum out the dust. if there is no power to the fridge, the light will be off. if the compressor is not running, there is a defrost timer that cuts the power temporarily to the compressor to melt ice on the coils. it?s located under the fridge behind the bottom vent. If the timer is off and the compressor is not going, the compressor or the main board is bad and needs replacing. there is also a temperature sensor on the evaporator coils that tells the defrost coil to turn on and when to turn off. if the defrost timer is on but the coil is not heating up, replace the sensor. if it still won?t heat up, it?s the timer or the coil. the easiest way to tell if there is no refrigerant- the freezer wall is warm and the compressor is loud. if there is no refrigerant, it may be more cost effective to replace the fridge. if you feel no air coming from the freezer vent, the fan needs replacing. If you feel air moving in the freezer but not the fridge, the channel from freezer to fridge is blocked. if the freezer has air and the rear freezer wall has frost on it, the evaporator coils are iced up and need defrosting. causes: 1. low refrigerant 2. no fan 3. too much humid air in fridge/freezer due to door open or bad door seals 4. the condensate drain tube is clogged if the seal around the door is ripped or not completely sealing, or there is condensation at the bottom or the walls of the fridge, replace the seal(s). no air, no fan. Replace if the refrigerant is low, it just needs a top off. but you need to be certified by the epa to move refrigerant, so get a professional. defrost solutions: unplug the fridge. remove the wall of the freezer that is frosted/icing up. use a hair dryer to melt the ice. do not get too close. you will see a drain under the evaporator coil. make sure it is not blocked. the water should run freely to a condensate pan under the fridge that evaporates the condensation with the hot line from the compressor. once the coil is free of ice, frost, and water, replace the panel and repair any of the problems that caused the icing up. plug the fridge in and turn it on. If it frosts up within a week, there is still an issue that not been taken care of.

The freezer works great, but I can't get the bottom section to get cold?? I shut it off for several days to let it defrost ( I thought it might be the automatic defrost causing icing), but when I started...

When I here " the freezer is working fine but my fresh food section is warm". I can just about diagnose a customers problem every time. Check the freezer temp. It should be between 0 and -10 degrees F. I think you will find that it's running warm. If it is, check the fan under the back of the frig and be sure the fan inside the freezer. If they are running when the compressor is running, they are fine. Then you will need to see if there is any ice built up on the back wall inside the freezer. If so, you have a defrost problem.

Our freezer is not cold, food is defrosting, ice is melting. Refrigerator is working, freezer is not. We hear compressor running continuously. This is a side by side Amana model with water & ice maker...

Look at the back of the freezer wall from inside the freezer. Is there frost on it? If there is, you need to replace one of the components of the defrost system. If there is no frost then you need to have a repair made to the sealed system, it is either out of gas or the compressor is running inefficiently
