No it's digital AEY12F7E-D I had the cover going to change out the capacitor and a child pulled the wires all off just about everything and I do not have a wiring diagram for the unit 230v, It looks like L2 goes to the piggy backs to Hearn. L1 goes to the board everything works but the compressor, it works fine when hook to L1, L2 & hearn

  • merk09 May 16, 2009

as it looks now the HEARN and L2 are piggy backed but off the condencer and it looks like L1 goes through board with a wire from there that can only reach C on the Capacitor. It's the L2 piggy back with (Compresor Hearn) that has me perplexed. Wired that way the compressor doesn't run.

L1 to board to one side of thermostat.
Other side of thermostat to one side of compressor overload.
Other side of overload to (C) terminal on compressor.
Should work now.

The only thing that should be on the Herm. terminal of the capacitor is the lead from the start (S) winding of the compressor.
L2, one lead from fan, lead from run (R) winding on compressor.
Those three to "C" terminal on capacitor.
L1 to control to one side of thermostat. The other side of thermostat to one side of overload. The other side of overload to common (C) terminal on compressor. End of sentence.

I have a Fedders air conditioner/heater and the it will not heat. Turned it on and fan was frozen and didn't turn it off in time. Bought new element but still nothing.

Are you sure the fan is frozen? Are you able to turn it freely by hand? These units have a limit switch in them to keep the fan from starting right away, normally about quarter size& 1/2" thick with 2 or more wires going to it. If the limit switch is bad it will keep the fan fo going on. May want to have a pro look at it.

Fedders Y Chassis Quit Running

Bummer. I bought an AEY08F2G that put out no warm air and very little cool air. Fedders filed chapter 11 in August. They do not honor warranties now, and apparently offer no repair service. I was fortunate that I bought mine from Venting Direct, and the unit was still within the 60 defective return period. They told me that Fedders units are junk. They provided full credit for the unit (plus shipping costs) without requiring that the unit be returned to them. My advice is to toss it. Live and learn.
