Question about Homelite Mighty Lite Lawn Trimmer

My mighty lite will start but it runs on full choke but it stops

    Homelite trimmer stats and runs for about 6 minutes. Then, it tries to start and runs about one second and dies. Won't work again until ithe next day. Cleaned the air filter, changed the plug, and shot some carb coeaner into the butterfly. No change, Any tips?

Your carburetor needs cleaned you had old gas in it this cloggedup your jets and made the diaprams hard witch will not move enough to pump enough gas to keep engine running off choke.

  • Doug Warne CHECK FOR AIR BUBBLES IN COOLANT as piston compress air if it leaking pass the headgasket seal into the coolant jacket this will cause air bubbles and you may loose heat out of the heater core...i have seen this with cracked heads also so if this is the case have head checked at machine shop

  • Doug Warne As far as the A/c Heater Blower i would first check the Fuse in the box with a test light, and i would check all the fuses remember you have a battery side and ignition side of the fuse box if the fuse is blow replace with manufacture Amp Fuse and if new fuse shorts then i would look at blower motor draw

  • Doug Warne If your battery is loosing charge overnight or anytime you can simply take your negaitive Cable from your batter and put a test light from the negiative cable then touch your neg. terminal and if test light illuminates you have a draw and bad draw so take amp meter and test to see the draw in amps if high amp draw i would first look at the regulator and remove the 12volt singe wire and see if draw disappear if draw is no longer then 99 percent your regulator has shorted

Hey Doug. I would change the cam sensor and see it that takes your light on. The misfire may errase with a new cam sensor. I would hold off on the crank, until I changed the cam sensor. If it still runs rough, then maybe try the crank sensor. It is possible they didn't gap the #8 plug right or it was a bad plug. I would try the cam Doug. I would hold off on the crank.

Hey Doug,
I would first suspect a clogged fuel filter, then ignition components and air pathway obstructions from filter to exhaust.
Sounds like the bike wants to run and does run...when it gets what it needs.
If it has a carb, check the float bowl for crud that can clog the jets. You may need to replace fuel line, but not likely.

I have a carrier heatpump model 38Q130300 when I turn the thetmostat to run the fan the heat comes on and stays on until I turn the fan off. Any Ideas. Thanks Doug


suggest starting with thermostat replacement only because it sounds as if the fan/heating control has constant power.

Not very technical at the moment, but I can tell it's in the fuel sensor system, not fuel delivery. Check the Mass Airflow Sensor, and related sensors.
