Remove rear panel, you will see a box with door on it. You can open the door and have access to the bulb.

hello. it sound's like you need to replace the lamp in your set. and here is how to do it the right way. rember to all ways unplug your set.. # 1 first. .Remove the outside lamp cover. The lamp cover is located on the right side of the Sony television. To remove the lamp cover, simply pull down. You will now have access to the lamp housing. # 2 Open the lamp housing door by turning the locking handle counterclockwise while pulling the door toward you # 3 Pull the lamp unit straight out of the television unit. Be sure not to touch the bulb, as it may still be hot. # 4 Slide the replacement bulb into the lamp housing. # 5 The lamp will slide securely into place.!!! "Do not" touch the new bulb as it will cause damage to the bulb and result in malfunction. # 6 Push the lamp door back into place. Turn the locking knob clockwise to secure the door in place.# 7 Slide the outside lamp housing cover back into place on the television.!!! plug your set back in to the wall & The television is now ready for use. thank you

Where is bulb located

The lamp assembly is usually housed in a metal holder which can be located behind a removable cover at the rear of your set. The lamp assembly is a high intensity halide lamp with integral parabolic reflector unit. Some later models permit user access to lamp holder via an access cover, earlier units required access to the set's internals by qualified personel.

    Panssonic PT50DL54 DLP Lamp Replacement

    Webman,

I own the same television, however, I am not a technician. The lamp housing unit is in the front of the television. Pop off the plastic grill and remove the screw on left side. Access to the bulb is there. Replacing the bulb is quite simple.

    Good luck!
