Re: dsl internet connection sharing

Did you run the set up cd? If so, then try to do powercycle. Reboot everything. if your wired connection works then access the set up page by typing on the address bar of the PC that is already online. Leave username blank, "admin"  (lowercase letters is your password). Click status, if you already have an ip address and Dns then you are good to go. If you dont have then do a mac clone under "set up" then check the password for wireless connection under wireless security. you can use that to log on to the wireless netowrk on your two pcs.
if all of these seems to be confusing, you can call. 18003267114 for manual help.

Re: dsl internet connection sharing

If you are using a LinkSys WRT300N, you may have to:
1. Connect a single PC direct to your modem via a LAN cable;
2. Make sure that you can go online & have internet access on that PC;
3. Insert the CD that came with the WRT300N;
4. Follow the on screen instructions carefully;
5. It will instruct you then when to disconnect the modem and how  to connect the LinkSys;
6. You may likewise have to check that the PC is set to auto Obtain IP settings/configuration. Alternatley, you may also use static IP address for the first PC;;;;
7. Connect the two other PCs;
8. For a wireless connection, try first without any security settings (no WEP, WPA or MAC filter).

Hope this be of some idea/help. Pls post back how things turnes up or should you need further information.

Good luck and kind regards.

How to configure wireless access point using a laptop
Wireless technology makes connecting to the Internet possible from anywhere within the range of the network. Unfortunately, not all Internet-capable devices have wireless technology, and many still require an Ethernet port connection. If you have a laptop with a wireless card and an Internet connection, you can make the laptop a wireless access point and share that connection with other devices, whether your laptop runs a Windows or OSX operating system. Windows computers allow other devices to access the wireless network via a physical connection to the laptop, while OSX computers allow AirPort equipped devices to connect as well, creating a second wireless bubble for the network.

1 Turn on the laptop and the device with which you will share the connection. Ensure the laptop's wireless card is turned on and you have an Internet connection.

2 Connect an Ethernet cord to the port on the laptop, and the other end to the receiving device. You need to make the connection first, or you will not be able to access the sharing options for the connection.

3 Open the list of network connections on the computer. In Windows 7 and Vista, access this list by typing "Network Connections" into the Start menu search bar and pressing "Enter." In Windows XP, click on "Network Connections" in the Network and Sharing Center section of the Control Panel.

4 Right click on the wireless connection and select "Properties," then navigate to the Sharing tab. This tab will not appear unless both devices are connected.

5 Check the box marked "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection." Click "OK" to save the changes.
1 Click on the Apple menu and select "System Preferences." Click the "Sharing" option, then choose "Internet Sharing."

2 Select the Airport and wireless network in the "Share your connection from:" drop-down menu.

Select an output format for the connection in the "To computers using:" drop-down menu. Choose "Ethernet" for a physical connection or "AirPort" for wireless broadcasting.

Turn on the device you wish to receive the connection. Connect the devices with an Ethernet cable, or turn on the receiving device's AirPort card and connect wirelessly.

My Hp Photosmart C5820 all in one printer is connected to my HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop (Windows XP). How do I share this printer wirelessly with my new Dell laptop (Windows 7)?

Any printer that isconnected to a computer and is connected on a LAN can be configured so allother computers on the same network can print to this printer. This means thecomputer with the printer attached to it MUST be booted up at all times whenother computers want to access the printer. You need to install theprinter driver on the computer and configure it as a Shared printer. The other computers on thenetwork need to add this printer to their computer. Follow these steps toset-up a shared network printer :- 1. Connect the printer tothe computer and install the printer driver. 2. Open Printers and Faxes- right click on this printer and click Sharing - click Sharing tab and click Share this printer, and then if you wish you could change theShare name, then click OK 3. Right click on theprinter - click Properties - click Print Test Page to confirm printerinstallation.
Follow these steps toconfigure the computers on your network :- 1. Open Printers and Faxes- click Add a printer - Next - select a network printer, or a printer attached to another computer - Next. 2. Select Browser for aprinter - Next 3. Click on and expand theMicrosoft Windows Network down to the computer with the printer - Next 4. Select Yes for - Usethis printer as the default printer - Next - Finish 5. Right click on theprinter - click Properties - click Print Test Page to confirm printerinstallation. b>

Dsl modem+ wireless router, no internet when i add a new phone

You may have crossed the wires on the new connection. This may be causing a short and shutting down the connection. Try reversing the two wires for the new phone. Then retest the connection.

Please leave feedback if this solves your problem.

Says dsl has no connection, but yet on network it says connected. red light flashing on gateway unit

Your computer sees its connection to the gateway - that's your "connected" - without being connected to the internet. First check that all cables are securely plugged in, especially the cable from the phone jack to the gateway device. You may need to cycle power on the gateway device to restore the DSL connection, and you may need to reboot the computer afterward to reconnect to the Internet (depending on your OS).

My Linksys Wireless A P only allows one computer to connect

You need to get a router in order to share the Internet connection. The existing Internet connection (from the DSL/cable modem for instance) goes into the WAN port of the router/firewall, then you connect the AP to one of the LAN ports.

Today it is often a better idea to buy a wireless router instead, i.e a router with built-in wireless AP. They are very inexpensive.

Can't connect 2 pc to 1 printer

Steps to fix your issue
  1. install printer driver on one computer
  2. Make sure both computers are connected in same network by ethernet cable or wireless connection.
  3. share the printer on 1st computer
  4. access the shared printer from 2nd computer through network
This way your can access one printer from 2 computers. This setup work only when the 1st computer is turned on because HP leaser jet don't have the capability to work as network printer as they cannot acquire IP address.

If u need further information on how to configure 2 computer please refer below link
