Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console
If your touch screen appears to be working but does not calibrate it can sometimes be something stuck on the screen, including a screen protector. Have a good look and maybe remove a screen protector and put a new one on. Sometimes a bit of dirt get trapped under them. Or a big scratch, which basically means a new touch screen.

Try pushing down lightly with your finger nail along the outside of the screen all the way around a little harder if needed, if that dosent work invest in a new touch screen.

Hi this is a common problem when the lower touch screen (not the lcd behind it is starting to break) the only solution is to replace the touch screen section and reboot the DS. About €15 to do yourself and around €30 for a repair shop.

I'm affraid your touch screen which is mounted above the lower lcd screen is damaged. The only way to fix this is to have a new touch screen fitted. The unit needs opening for this.
I have repaired a large ammount of ds's with this fault. It's very common! Best of luck.

I have the same problem and i figured out what is wrong. One thing is that you have to keep up with you calibrations so like once a week. If you didnt it wont work. Another problem could be your battery. Every time you charge your battery it loses the ability to last as long as you would like. So eventually it takes longer to charge than you have play time. When this happens your screen could get ruined. So you would have to by a new one
