Re: RICOH Caplio RR530

For some reason its telling you your firmware version. You may need to update your "firmware" version.  Try here:

I was not able to get the file to download and I think its because of my location.  Go through your camera's menu and see if you can turn it off.  Also check to see if there is a command that trns off your zoom feature.

You can get more support here:

The lens issue could also be a mechanical problem and the camera may need to be cleaned at any photo repair shop.

Let us know what you find.

Why! when i take a picture with my Olumpus sp-600uz camera and try to see picture it comes up with a picture error message

I had a similar problem. I had to clear all of the pics from the storage memory. All is good now. You need to move the pics to a folder and then delete them from the storage memory, not just delete the pics. There are still pics stored on the internal memory. If you need more info, I can tell you how to get rid of them.

Why, when i take a picture and try to see it it comes up with a picture error on my sp-600z camera

The manual says:

Problem with selected image
Use photo retouch software, etc. to view the image on a computer. If the image still cannot be viewed, the image file is corrupted.

But try this. Switch of the camera, remove the battery and memory card. Check if all contacts are clean and shiny. On the battery, on the memory card and in the camera. Then replace the battery and memory card and switch on.
I hope this solves the problem.

Pictures coming out completely black?

Is the shutter opening? Put it on slow shutter speed and wide aperture say 1 sec at f4 or wider and look down the lens as you take photo. At some point you should see the sensor as the aperture is nearly fully open. If not then it isn't allowing light to get to the sensor, but if that's all working ok (and I assume you've looked at the photos on a computer and checked they are on the card and the exif info is sensible and they are still completely black) then you have a faulty sensor or processor. Remove battery reinsert and go into menu and reset the camera settings. Report back so???

Why does the camera keep saying 'turn off the camera and turn on again'

The camera is recognizing a problem, but it is not able to reset it self. It will have to be sent off for repair.

It sounds like your memory card is locked. There is a physical slide lock on the side of the card. Slide it one way to lock it and the other way to unlock it. There are similar instructions and pictures on the following web site:

Failure to operate - reimsert battery

Replace the battery. After you turn it off for a while, the battery comes back just enough to allow operation for a short time. After that time is over, the camera doesn't operate. Then if it sits for a while, the battery can power the camera for another short time.

Error 99

i had the same problem and i found this guide online fixed my problem

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Remove the lens, battery, and CF card.
3. Allow the camera to sit without power for approximately 20 minutes.
4. Insert a fully charged battery, and turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.
Does the “ERR 99′ message appear? If it does, then the camera should be
serviced. If it does not, then please proceed to the next set of steps:
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Insert the CF card.
3. Turn on the camera.
4. Format the CF card in the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.
Does the “ERR 99′ message appear? If so, then the CF card is the most
likely source of the issue. Try using a different card.
If the message does not appear, please complete the following steps:
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Clean the lens contacts by gently rubbing them with a pencil eraser
or soft cloth. Be careful that you do not let any debris fall into the
camera body.
3. Reattach your lens.
4. Turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.
