Question about Sony Mavica MVC-CD500 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Can't see pictures on LCD and they are just black(SONY MVC-CD500)

Tried everything as per the manual troubleshooting guide but no success. I can see and do everything on the LCD, which appears dark despite I adjusted the contrast, but when I want to take pictures it's black and as well as the pictures .
Need help please.

Thanks for helping. There is no such a button on this model Mavica MVC-CD500. The LCD is acting like there was a lens cap on, which of course is not the case.

Have you tried pushing the evf/lcd button right above the lcd screen on the right side?

I believe the button he's referring to is below your LCD on left side and labelled "Display/LCD Backlight". If you've pressed this a few times and you backlight hasn't come on, your backlight has likely failed and your camera needs to be serviced

LCD Display is black when the camera is on.

Only folks...I just opened the back of the CCD by removing 5 small screws. I popped the cover, carefully. The reason I am doing this is becuase my LCd screen was not working, yet the camera still funcitioned as if the LCD was. Guess what, the flat cable that controls the LCd had come loose from use and time from under the clamp. Simple fix. Plugged the flat cable back in, and wala, back in action. This may solve some problems with the display being black. Check the connections under the cover. easy to remove. Silverwolf
