Question about GE JVM1651 Microwave Oven
The light bulb needs to be replaced for the light on GE microwave model # jvm1650. The bulb came out but separated from the base of the bulb. Could you please tell me how the base can be removed? Does it screw out, pop out, or anything of that nature. So far I haven't had much luck getting it out.
I had the same problem--tried to twist bulds out, and they separatd from the base. I sprayed both sockets with WD40, and worked them loose with needle nose pliers. be careful- I chipped the plastic housing working a little too vigorously. Let them sit a bit, so the WD40 can work. BE Sure to shut power off first!!!!

Of course, do unplug the oven first.
Another neat old trick is to lightly spray (or drip) the area between the broken bulb and the socket with WD40 or another lubricant then stick a carrot or potato chunk into the broken part and unscrew it.
But then you need to be sure the socket is dry. You can do that by wiping it off with high-grade alcohol or blasting it with air.
Then put the new bulbs in BEFORE you reapply power.

Yes it just unscrews. Unplug the microwave first! Then use some needle nose pliers and put them inside the base open the pliers to put pressure on each side of the base. Now turn the base counterclockwise. Let me know how it turns out.
