I also have an F-24 error code on my Whirlpool Duet Sport HT washer, but I think it is better than the F-01 error code I had before when I had to get the machine replaced, because at least now my clothes are not locked inside. I really hate this washing machine!

  • ddkraft Sep 05, 2008

I usually get the "f-24" error code because of too much suds, or something similar but this time I had the washer on "rinse & spin" & I got the F-24 error code. //HISTORY: my washers puts water all over the detergent, bleach, softner holders (thereby putting everything in the first wash) and I have learned that if I want softeners in my clothes I must run a second cycle just for that - so all my clothes get washed twice// I have learned that the error codes that I see can be cleared by turning the washer off (or pressing cancel)(one or two times) and the start wash cycle again.I have two whirlpool washers (duet) & two gas dryers (duets also) but this is the first time that I have had the F-24 error code during my second rinsing cycle & I just wonder if this is a precurser to the washer breaking down on me. if you can figure it out I would love to know - Please be advised that (after two years) I consider these whirlpool "duets" a bad purchase and am waiting for them to break so I can have the pleasure of throwing them out in my swale area for the garbage truck to pick up. But I would still like to know the specifics of the error code "F"-24.

Upon washing my clothes as normal, the F-24 error appeared on the washer. So I've turned to the internet since I purchased this product and have misplaced the owner's manual. I am not sure what F-24 means however after reading other peoples comments it sounds like F-24 means too many suds in the cycle. Is this correct? Need I do anything more then run the cycle once more without adding any additional detergent? Thanks

Where can I find the tech manual? I need to the same thing (thermistor error-F05)

My washer had the same F-24 error code. The tech manual inside the bottom cover said that it had to do with the temperature sensor. I removed the back and the top cover, and found the CCU (the brains of the washer). Following the directions in the tech manual I ohmed out the temp sensor and found that it was OK according to the manual (approx. 12k-ohm). I followed the wires for the temp sensor starting at the CCU (using the schematic in the tech manual) to the opposite end and found that the connector was loose. I re-inserted the connector and the washer started to work fine - no more F-24 error code.

I have a Duet front loader... Received F- 24 Error... Reset All... Noticed water (probably drain error?) still at the bottom of tub... Set to rinse\spin ... Letting it cycle now... Few weeks back found debris where some drain holes were... Hopefully none of that made it internally.. May take the lower panel off for reference tonight... Thanks All..

Error code f24

F24 indicates a water temperature sensor error. If during the wash cycle in the water-heating step, the water temperature sensor (NTC) value is out of range the F24 error code will display.

Possible causes:
  • Too cold of water or hot water is turned off
  • Temperature sensor failure or loose connection
  • Control board failure

I've had this same problem and had a service man come in. The reason for the colde is an over-gunked up machine due to the directions for amount of soap to use on he bottles being incorrect.

Run the washer empty several timres with just vinegar in place of the soap and then repeat with bleach. I've been told this will take care of the problem, but it may take many cycles before the codes will stop appearing.

Also, from then on, only use 3 tablespoons, yes 3 tablespoons or 1 ounce of detergent per wash. The 1/4 cup that most he detergent bottles tell us to use is way too much.
