Vacuum bar not rolling

Hi!  I am using my roommate's eureka.  It is gorgeous and fancy so of course I had to go and break it.

I don't know exactly what happened.  I ran over a bookbag strap, heard a "clunk" sound, turned the vacuum off, pulled the strap out, and turned the vacuum back on.  The rolling bar no longer rolls.  I examined this bar.  It had a dryer sheet wrapped around it (not sure where it picked that up or how long it was there).  I pulled and removed the dryer sheet.  The bar still does not roll. There is other debris around it- a couple of hairs- but nothing that would interfere with it rolling.  Vacuum still has suction and all other parts seem to be fine.  Do you know how to remove and clean the roller?  Or should I just give up, fess up to the roommate, and bring it to get serviced somewhere?

Belt is busted . Need new belt . Vac comes with three additional belts. Ask your roomate belts he should have them somewhere.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don't know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I...

If the motor is running, there should be suction. Possible problems depend on whether it's a canister or upright and are:
A clog in the hose, UR or canister. Detach hose. Drop small coin in one end and lift hose causing it to roll out the other. If it does, no clog in hose. Drop same coin into hose opening on power head. If it rolls out, no clog in PN.
Broken fan blades, UR. Needs to be taken to shop for repair/replacement.

A reset button is for use if the motor isn't running, so won't have anything to do with the suction.

Beater bar is not turning... but vacuum is sucking fine.

Hello. Usually when the beater bar is not turning it is due to the belt breaking. The fix is to get a new belt and install it. Be sure to use a Eureka belt to get the best results.

The suction on my eureka optima stopped working but the roller still works, what might i do to fix it?

Hi there. Most suction problems are due to a blockage. Start with the base and look carefully for debris that is stopping air flow. You may have to remove the base plate to get to the problem. I am including a link to the manual for your machine. look on page four so see how to remove the base and check for blocked airways.

My Eureka Boss vacuum belt keeps breaking

I have been searching the machine for something which could be rubbing against the belt to cause it to fray and break as often as it does. So far, I haven't found anything. I have heard that the belts, called ribbon belts, are terrible! I find that the belts break faster when I use the hose. I haven't found a way to make a belt last longer.

Belt seems to have broken where do I get new belt for my eureka

If this is the same model as the one you have dont forget the 402A has a brush roll on/off function located on the main power switch so that it can be used with the beater bar on or off. If you remove the sole plate you'll find a toothed drive belt. These don't normally break and can be difficult to find a replacement. Check EBAY or Electrolux/Boss for replacements. It may just have slipped off its mechanism.

Multiple broken belts in months

Either the belt is not tracking straight, the brush roll is bad(check the ends to make sure they turn easily), or the base has warped and the brush roll is not sitting in the proper spot.

Belts keep breaking

Check the brush roll ends to see if they have melted or frozen. They should turn freely, part #361869-1. Make sure the belt isn't being pinched somewhere.

The top comes off to get to the belt and brush roll. Did you check the brush roll to make sure that the ends turn freely, or is one not turning, the belt is a lon life "U" part #61120A. The brush roll is what drives the vacuum, but if brush roll or belt is bad, then it won't drive it.
