That means that the element is grounded. There is a contact to ground on heating element wiring, or connectors, caused by oxide, bad connector or wiring.

Frigidaire gallery drys heating element stays on when the door is open

L-2 goes directly to the element. You my friend have a shorted heater element which continues to feed whenever the timer is turned on. You need to inspect the element and see if it is touching the pan.

Still heats when timer is still on, with the door open

It sounds like your heating element has burnt in two and one of the broken ends has welded itself the the metal heater housing. This would explain why it is staying on with the door open. Normally the heating circuit runs though the motor so it can't heat without the motor running. You probably just need to replace the heating element. Hope that helps.

Kenmore Dryer, heating element doesnt turn off

remove the back of dryer and remove the heating element from the heater box, check to see if the wires in the box are touching the heater box walls any where, this would make the element stay on all the time, also check the high temp thermostat on the left side bottom, this is the on off thermo for the heating element-mike

Heating element

if it does not stay red after you open the door then it's ok. but opening the door in mid cycle is not a good habit. turn off heat for a minute first will help the elements last longer.

Heating element stays on after door is opened

possibly something grounding the element to the housing. what brand of dryer do you have? GE/Hotpoint dryers are good at allowing things like underwires from a bra to get into the element area and ground out the element. or possibly the element has broken and the broken end has fallen against the housing. hope this helps

Electric Clothes Dryer Problem

if the dryer worked fine before with the element not staying on when you open the door, etc, then what you have done is a very common mistake to make, you must have dislodged a wire off, or maybe placed one back in the wrong place, its a very easy error to make, which is why when removing parts for repair on any appliance you must make very detailed notes, better still take digital photographs with a digital camera double check any wires etc, don't worry i am a retired appliance engineer and even we can make this mistake
