If the enclosure has a front GRILL that lifts off or can be pried off without difficulty, you may be able to enter from there.
In most cases the manufacturer seals these devices and you cannot open them. The cost to replace could be greater that purchasing a new sub-woofer. Remember Speakers must be MATCHED properly, and unless you have the exact replacement; all may be in vain. The other problem, some systems have Controls attached to the speaker box and that is a whole new problem to solve.

I have two wires coming from amp and my sub box only has one possitive and one negative for two subs how do I make this work

Your subs are set to connect as one channel... One Speaker, even though as a SET.

You can either hook them up as is. meaning to the rear amp channel or the front. which ever option your amp offers.

OR

Open the sub box, disconnect the one speaker from the other and fish the new wire through the box so you can connect them to the Amp separately.

I suggest going with the first option and connecting them on the AMPS, rear channel...

Good luck

What size box should i build fro two pioneer 12inch speakers 1200watts each

For optimal performance there is really only one size for the box .Firstly, you get two different types of subwoofers, an open air, or closed air sub. If it is an open air sub ( hole with mesh in the center of the magnet) no ports are required, and the box should be sealed on the inside with silicone sealant. If it is a closed air sub ( no hole in the magnet) you need a 50mm port about 120mm long. If it is a 12 inch speaker, the box size will be 13 inches x 13 inches x 13 inches.

Smoke was coming out of my subs and it was alot.

Open the sub box and see what it looks like before you go purchasing stuff with no problem for certain. You may have had wires touch and they will smoke. Also try connecting a different speaker to the amp and see if it works. this lets you know if the amp/speaker is working or not

1 subwoofer stopped working in a box for 2

Hello mccanello55,

You need to remove the subs from the box in order to check the internal box wiring. First, make sure that the wire going from the nonworking sub terminals to the enclosure terminals is OK. Then check the "braided" leads on the back of the terminals going to the speaker cone. If the wiring all looks OK, remove the wires from the sub terminals, and use a multimeter set to the lowest ohm range and check the resistance across the subs terminals. You should read somewhere between 3-4 ohms. If the meter reads infinity (that is no reading at all), then the voice coil is open. If it "pegs" (reads "0"), the coil is shorted.

Either open or shorted means the voice coil is no longer working.

I could not find any replacement parts on Sony's support page, so it's most likely that they don't even repair these. They probably just replace the sub if it's under warranty, and if it's not under warranty, they probably recommend that you buy a new one.

Hope this helps.
