I've been getting no power at all. Tried using a good known power cable and a different power outlet but still won't work. How can i open the panel to check the power button?

My HP vs15 Flat Panel monitor has no power. Aready swapped the cable, tried different power outlet, and still won't turn on. Nothing razy happened to my machine. I am wondering if i could open the monitor to check if the power button is the problem but i don't find the right screws to remove. What should i do? Thanks! Evi

Hello emperez25...Sorry to hear that your LCD died on you. There are two things that normally cause this... #1..The power supply has gone out.... This would be the case if the lights on the front of the unit do not come on. You can check this with a multimeter. . #2...The inverter or the back lights are burned out. LCD displays use small tube florescent lights like the ones that are in stores and they either burn out or the inverter fails and they cease to work. This is the case if the front panel light comes on but no display can be seen unless you look VERY close. They can be repaired, but with parts and labor costs compared to the price drops of new LCD's most folks opt to upgrade....In short, get a written estimate for repair costs, if you choose to go that route. For less than 200 dollars you can get a NEW 23 inch LCD with DVI, HDMI and AGP interface with a full high definition display that supports the latest Blu-ray devices for FHD/HD true digital content.
Hope the information i have provided you is helpful...

Acer Aspire 5536 only gives black screen when i connect power supply

  • Nothing is more annoying than a monitor that refuses to turn on. Make sure your Acer monitor is plugged in to a functioning outlet. If it's plugged into a power strip, try replacing it with a new one or moving the plug to a different outlet. Ensure that both ends of the power cable are plugged in firmly and securely, and that the connection to the monitor is not loose.
Cable Issues
  • Your Acer LCD monitor will usually accept DVI and VGA inputs. If you have an older computer, a VGA cable should work fine. If it doesn't have a VGA port, you'll need to obtain an inexpensive DVI to VGA adapter at your local computer store. A DVI cable, however, is compatible with most modern computers and offers superior picture quality over VGA. Make sure you're using the cable that's compatible with your system, and that you have the proper conversion adapter, if necessary.

My panasonic TH42PX60U won't power up. No red light flashing. Completely dead. I tried unpluging and using different power outlets. Still nothing. Any help?

1. Check all cable and input connections are secure & all are tightly connected.
2.Check power cords and also power outlet , if possible try to unplug and reconnect . A replacement of power cable or use another power outlet is another good option.
3. If you are sure that power is reaching your TV(check it out with a test lamp that both neutral & ground or earthing is functioning, i.e. the test lamp glows) then probably the power board needs replacement.

My rumble 30 bass amp makes a lot of bad noise when i plug it in. it started off when i first started playing it and it worked fine, then after a few minutes it started making the noise. i've tried...

How new is the amp?

A single faulty solder can do that...I'd try returning in to the seller.
Have you tried a different amp with the same equipment?

Sounds like a wiring issue.

Hope I've helped

hi if you have at least a basic knowledge in repairing in any electronics as my recommendations, since the problem is won't power on.first you need to open the back cover with the use of philip screw driver then start to check the power supply look for the blown fuse replaced with the same amper rated at the part. then check for any burnt or bulged capacitors. also considered the inverter ballast board if their is no burnt connectors or parts. good luck hope it will help you.

Dell e137fp monitor flashing green...

Below you will find my recommendations for troubleshooting this issue:

1. Reseat the power cord and verify a good power source.

To reseat the power cord, follow the steps below:

1.1 Power down the system.
1.2 Unplug the power cord.
1.3 Wait approximately one minute.
1.4 Reseat the power cord.
1.5 Verify that the power cord is plugged directly into a known good power outlet.

2. Verify that the monitor is receiving power from a known good outlet and bypass any power strips.

To test the power outlet, perform the following steps:

2.1 Unplug the monitor power cable from the power outlet.
2.2 Plug in a different device, and verify that the device is operational.
2.3 If there is no power try another outlet. Remove any power strips and try plugging directly into the main power outlet.

3. Verify the monitor is powered on and the power button is engaged.

Ensure that the monitor is powered on and that the power button is fully engaged. To do so, check the power LED on the front of the monitor; it should be lit.

NOTE: There are two types of power switches:
A mechanical switch characterized by a long travel. You have to push it further and you will hear an audible click.
An electrical switch that has a short travel and almost no click.

A lit monitor LED can be any of the following:

* Green
* Blinking green
* Yellow
* Blinking yellow
* A combination, such as alternating green and yellow

Any of these states indicate the monitor is receiving power and that you should proceed.

4. Swap power cables.

To try a known good power cable on the monitor, follow the instructions below:

4.1 Turn off a working monitor.
4.2 Unplug the cable from the back of the working monitor, and unplug the cable from the wall.
4.3 Unplug the cable from the monitor in question.
4.4 Plug in the cable that came from the working monitor.

5. Run the monitor self test.

To run the monitor self test, perform the following steps:

5.1 Power off both the computer and the monitor.
5.2 Unplug the video cable from the computer or video card.
5.3 Reseat the power cord to the monitor, ensuring it is plugged into a known-good outlet.
5.4 Power on the monitor.

NOTE: The monitor self test will move around on some monitor models. If the monitor self test moves, allow it to move to the affected areas of the monitor to check for the problem described.

If the Self test failed, it's possible that the monitor is faulty. Contact dell to check if it's still under warranty so they can replace it.
