I think resetting the router to the factory
defaults may fix the issue. Generally, after resetting to defaults, the router works fine, however, you have to setup security key etc. First,
to reset the router to factory default setting, press and hold the
reset button for few seconds (It is at the back of the router). The LEDs will then blink and the routers factory settings wouls be restored.
note that after RESETTING THE ROUTER to defaults, ALL SETTINGS WILL BE
LOST AND YOU HAVE TO RECONFIGURE IT. Generally, after hard reset you
get the connectivity, however, you have to make the connection secure
etc. Please, refer the product guide/manual and make configurations as per the
details provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
GoodLuck! Dont forget to appreciate the solution if I could have been of any help! CreativeTECH
Well the best shot is to reset the router back to factory by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds then it will flash a couple of times. then see if your laptop can connect to the router, If that doesnt work let me know
Some older mobile phones don't recognise some of the newer security settings (WPA2, for example).
It might be worth trying a different type of encryption (WPA/PSK or WEP) to see if these work better - obviously this would mean having to reconfigure the wireless connections on the computer and laptop.
Hope this helps.
Try using 128 bit hex code. You put in a passphrase and it will scramble it into 13 pairs of letters and numbers. Use that instead of WEP. (192.168.2.1 in the address to get into settings for router, default password is blank)
if its says that "no audio d3evice found " then your laptop's audio drivers are missing
try driver disk
and reinstall audio drivers(sound card driver)
and this will re install your audio driver and your laptop can recognise sound card
Is the router for your use only or for a lot of people, if it's your own dedicaced router, simply reset it by the button on the back or the router should solve your problem. If not working, by the router config; usually accessed through your browser, typing in the adress 192.168.1.1, find the security menu, and the MAC filtering option, deactivate it, and retry. If always not working, we stay here...
First you can try to uninstall and reinstall the driver of the wireless adapter on that desktop. Unplug and re-plug the wireless card. If it is a wireless PCI card, make sure the antenna is tightly screwed on. Install just the driver of the wireless card and not the utility/software that came with it. You can also try to change the channel on the wireless router by going to the router's user interface. If you're on channel 6, choose channel 11 and save the settings. Then power cycle the router, unplug the power for 30 seconds then plug it back in. Check now if you can connect wireless.
If you know how to open the setup page of the router, look for MTU. Normally it is set to Auto with default size of 1500. Now set it to manual and change the value to 1463 and save the changes. Power cycle the router by unplugging the power for 30 seconds then plug it back in. Observe your connection if it keeps on dropping.
Another is you need to isolate the problem if its the router or the modem. Try to connect your PC directly to your modem and observe if it does the same thing. If it does the same problem, call your Internet Provider to fix the modem.
If the problem still persist on the router after changing the MTU, try to update the Firmware of the router and hard reset it by pressing the reset button for 15 seconds then power cycle it.
