No speaker sound

I have a dell computer, my speakers are desktop.  They will not work, I have tried new ones and still no sound.

Suddently my Dell A525 Computer Speakers with subwoofer went dead.

It was preceded by a Crackling sound.

    - The blue light on the speaker is still there.

    - The connections are all O.K.

    - The sound settings of my Computer are O.K.

    - There is sound with any other replacement sound device !!!!

It looks like this is definitely a hardware problem.

I live on Curacao (N.A.) where there is no service for this device and I do'nt think it is feasible to send this abroad for repair. I realize that there are many possiblities what could be wrong, but I would appreciate if you could provide me with the most possible cause and location of the problem and what kind of actions could be taken

The fact that power reaches the speaker (the indicatror light is on) may narrow the list of posibilities down.

    Thank you

I have same problem with my Dell A525 two speaker system with sub-woofer. Nothing but "hummm" coming out of the sub-woofer. It worked briefly then not at all.

This appears to be a common problem with these speakers judging by the posts all over the net and seems to be that the Dell A525 speakers are defective. (Unfortunately, I bought mine through some wholesaler on eBay who must be reselling all of Dell's returns. I'm out of luck.) Be sure to get Dell to fix/replace before your warranty expires.

Trying going into the speakers settings on your integrate sound in control panel and see if you can set it to 5.1 instead of the default 7.1.

Also do you have other speaker to try and plug into the card to make sure the card is installed and working?

Why no sound from my speakers with Dell Dimension 2400, even though it's equipped for sound? Speakers worked fine plugged into Compaq.

Please try other speakers to make sure that it is in fact the computer and not the speaker port itself. If other speakers work, then it is most likely a driver problem. Try to find the drivers for your speakers and install them, restart, and reconnect your speakers. Good luck!

Tin like sound from small speakers only. No sound

switch on your speaker set in full volume unplug it from computer touch the plug , as you touch you can hear a sound ( loud hum sound) if the speaker is working. If okay then check the right jack, plug it into green color jack. you can try if your computer is okay use a headphone plug it into the jack in PC , if the computer is okay you may hear the sound.

Go into the device manager and see if the sound card drivers are installed. If not then you'll need to install the drivers for them.

HP speakers not working with Dell computer

Your speakers are plugged into the wrong port? Most computers have at least a mic port and a speaker port, many also have front, rear, center, and subwoofer. Try playing a sound, then moving the connector to another port and trying again.

Are your new speakers plugged in? Is the volume on them turned up?

Rear speaker not working

If you did the 5.1 sound test and the rear speaker works, sometimes you have to see in your software speakers settings, probably you need to change to 5.1 speakers
