Make a note of skipping tracks & check these tracks play ok on the PC - this will rule out corrupted tracks.
Skipping of entire tracks can be due to DRM copy protected tracks (purchased on-line). Some players will not play DRM tracks.
You can check for protected tracks.
- In Windows Explorer, go to the folder where the tracks are stored on your PC.
- Click on View -----> Details
- Right click on the header bar in the right hand window and select protected. (If protected is not listed click on More)
- Tracks will be listed with No or Yes under protected. Check your skipping tracks are listed as No, under protected.
If none of this helps, install and run the Philips Device Manager. Select the repair / restore option and follow the on-screen prompts. This will format the player, ruling out a corrupt file system on the player, and re-load the firmware.
Try moving the top button to hold and then back again, then hold the centre button and menu at the same time for at least 6 secs until apple logo comes on, this should have reset it! From Tiggleumpumpum
