You've got a bad solder connection,or broken foil line,s on the pcb (printed circuit board).Narrow it down by pressing in different places,or use plastic or rubber tip.If not, then you got a shorted load on this fuse and diode.do you have a schematic, whats at the end's of this circuit.D represents a <Diode> not a transistor.
Listen to some advice? As the owner manual suggests if you get a 3 blink error code, it is the lamp door, What you need to do is with the set unplugged remove the door and hold it edgewise, look to see if the plastic door is warped even a little.
There is a plastic peg on the back of the door that engages a safety switch which is usually blue in color, if the door is even warped a little (from the heat the lamp produces) the switch will not be engaged, this is to prevent the set being operated with the door removed.
What I usually do to confirm or rule this out is with something not metal, like a Q-tip engage the lever and plug and turn the set on. DO NOT LOOK AT THE LAMP AS IT IS SO BRIGHT IT CAN DAMAGE YOUR EYES!. Do not operate the set with the door removed for a prolonged period of time and do not put the shield over it with the door removed as the heat can warp that also.
The idea here is to confirm the door is the problem, if the set works with the lever engaged you just need to replace the door. It is about a 10 dollar part from Sony and is also sold on Ebay.
If you have questions ask BEFORE you attempt to defeat the safety switch.
This is a very common problem in these sets and the new replacement door is made of a "different" kind of plastic that is supposed to resist the heat.
I am here to help and if this resolves your issue let me know, this is a simple way to know if the door is really your problem or not, I have seen over 40 of these sets with this problem.
It could be the temp sensor going bad. This sensor sits on top of the
metal housing which the bulb assembly slides into. The bulb assembly
will have a hole on top and this is where the sensor is above. There is a
small blue and white wire that plugs into it. If you pull the wire out
and put a paper clip or wire in the coupling you will basically bypass
the sensor connecting the blue and white wire. If your tv turns on then
that is your problem. Its cheap too. Here were my symptoms..1] Turn tv
on 2] Bulb would light up..(which eliminates the ballast) regular
picture would show up (which eliminates the bulb and color wheel) 3] 30
seconds later tv would shut down with 3 flashing lights. After bypass
the tv turned on as always and hasnt shut down yet. Always un plug tv
first. Get the replacement part to avoid overheating and possible fire
Sounds like you have a jammed / shorted out button on the control panel... Try un-plugging the tv, and then unplug the "button panel" on the front of the tv...see if you can turn the tv on with the remote. Sometimes if one of the buttons gets shorted, it will "lock" the processor from doing ANYTHING else, as it thinks you are holding down the defective button. If this works, simply have the defective switch or control panel replaced, or just leave it unplugged and use the remote only! Hope this helps!
