Check the fuser rollers for wear. When this occurs the rollers lose their roundness and get flat spots on them. This can cause the thermistors and thermal switches to bounce on thier surface and get incorrect readings. Should replace upper and lower fuser rollers every 150,000 copies (A4).

How to reset e001

An error E001 should have a detail code with it.

Detail Code 0001:
Cause
The fixing temperature has increased abnormally
  • The main thermistor (TH1) has a short circuit.
  • The fixing heater drive circuit has a fault.
  • The DC controller PCB has a fault
  • The image processor PCB has a fault.
Description
The output of the main thermistor has exceeded 220 C.

Detail Code 0002:
Cause
The sub thermistor has detected overheating.
  • The main thermistor (TH1) has a short circuit.
  • The fixing heater drive circuit has a fault.
  • The DC controller PCB has a fault
  • The image processor PCB has a fault.
Description
The output of the sub thermistor has exceeded 235 C.

Detail Code 0003:
Cause
The sub thermistor has an open circuit
  • The sub thermistor has an open circuit.
  • The SSR has a fault.
  • The DC controller PCB has a fault.
  • The image processor PCB has a fault.
Description
The output of the sub thermistor has exceeded 235 C.

I would suggest calling the copier repair personal.

E001
0000 The main thermistor detects 250°C or higher.
0001 The main thermistor or the sub thermistor detects overheating (hardware
circuit detection).
0002 The sub thermistor detects about 295°C or higher.
Main cause The fixing film unit is faulty (i.e., the thermistor has a short circuit). The
main power supply PCB is faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty.
Caution To clear the error, execute the following in service move:
COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR.
Action
1. Fixing film unit
Check the interval between pin 1 and pin 2 and between pin 3 and pin 4 of
the connectors (4-pin) of the thermistor for electrical continuity. Is it 0 ?
(short circuit)?
YES: The thermistor has a short circuit. Replace the fixing film unit.
REF.
If the thermistor has a short circuit, the indication in service mode
(COPIER>DISPLAY>ANALOG) will be as follows from the start: FIXC=250°C
for the main thermistor; FIX-E=310°C for the sub thermistor.
2. Main power supply PCB, DC controller PCB
Try replacing the main power supply PCB. Is the problem corrected?

NO: Replace the DC controller PCB.

BUT FIRST: under service mode *28* copier, function, clear , err turn off and on maybe it will work.If it works check that you have good air flow around the copier.

Gets an e001 often

You either have a power problem where the copier is plugged into > switch the plug. Or that you need a new thirmistor & the sub thirmistor. Also possibly a upper fuser roller.
