Question about Singer 6510 Sewing Machine
I have an old brother db2 b755 industrial sewing machine.after changing the oil & stitch length it now seems to be stuck in reverse.wheel & pulleys going in same direction whether its supposed to be going forward or backward.any help/advice would be gratefully accepted

Knowing which kind of machine you have helps alot. Just guessing but maybe the reverse mechanism is stuck and needs some oil in it to free it up. Or the buttonhole mechanism is stuck in reverse part of it.
Probably you should have it looked at.

Are you certain that the pattern selector is set for straight stitch and not buttonhole?
Turn the handwheel so that the needle is up and the take-up lever is in it's highest position. Then turn the pattern selector knob through all of the patterns back and forth a few times. Finally, select straight stitch and see if the length works. If not, need to take it to a repair person to determine the course of action.
