No. we bought a replacement and the same problem, only now the oven wont work either

  • jamesofberke May 18, 2009

The stove wasn't hot when it cut out, and the replacement also had the issue without ever being hot. I doubt that an identical problem of electrical current (the clock and lights still working) being present and heat not being generated are internal issues with the stoves. I believe it is my circuit breaker, a double 30w, is not completely functioning. If one half of the breaker is not operating correctly will the other stay on and still work?

It most likely is the breaker. Your stove lights, clock, etc. will still work with 120v feeding in, but your elements will not work without 240v. I would first check the breaker (flip off and then on to reset) If that doesn't correct the problem, use a volt meter to check that there's 240v at the receptacle, there could be a break in the wire somewhere or the breaker could be toast.

check for power on elements if not near the element is a little round safety switch on some of the stoves if the temperature goes up to a certain degrees it cut the power to the elements but does the plates work.

  • shaun greyvensteyn May 20, 2009

the incoming power goes to your clock and from your clock it goes to your switches are your clock set correctly or take a three core cable and connect it to the stofe and put a plug on and to any plug and see if doubt of breaker

Oven wont work everything else is fine

As your oven is electric there is a heating element in the oven, have a look in the oven to find it and check the little plug in caps on the end to make sure they are not loose. If they,re ok check the switch on the front panel sometimes the knob comes loose on the spindle if that's all ok it may be the switch has failed. Good luck.

My candy oven r43/3xuk wont switch on. The power

If the fan is working o/k then it is likely to be a faulty oven element if it is a
electrically heated oven.
If it were the timer, not even the fan would work.

Gas oven dosnt work

the pilot light is there for 2 purposes. number 1 to light the burner and number 2 to heat up the thermocouple, thermocouple is a wire that the flame from pilot suppose to surround by fire. if the pilot is to low it will not reach the thermocouple. you can take the gas line that supplies gas to the pilot and clean it with a safety pin or a small needle. you can test the thermocouple by heating it up with a blow torch on low heat, get it red hot and then turned on the oven. if the oven works clean the pilot, if the oven do not work, replace the thermocouple if separate from safety valve. if thermocouple is part of it replace the safety valve.
