I have a question about the sound on my computer. My sound was fine,when I turned on my computer it says that my audio
controller is missing and to reinstall with the CD. I don't have a CD for it and don't think I ever did. Is there anything I can do to bring my sound back? I have Windows XP. Thanks!

Do you even have a sound card, or is it on-board sound? (i.e. on your motherboard)
What motherbaord and sound card do you have?
And is it a branded pc (Dell, HP, something like that) or did you have it built costum?

Need to know what sort of sound card it is... you can look in the bios if it's not listed in the Device Manager.

There are a number of steps to troubleshoot sound problems in XP. If XP supports your audio device by default, you should be able to install or update the driver for it.
If not, you need to identify the sound card model and type and get a driver from the manufacturer.
