Would be because that system fan is not pluged into the main baord if its a video card fan that you talking about that does not show up in the advance section this is because this card does not support that type of control as of yet for your card stand by evga is working on a fix.. We do not get any compensation for our answers just your good ratings so please rate me accordenly thanks

Vista desktop does not complete start up?

It may be the monitor. If the monitor power light is on, or yellow, or flashing, but nothing displays, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor needs replaced.

Pc powers on but no display(light on board and fan is working)

Could be a loose Display Card... pretty rare that would happen if the System has been working fine. An event would have to occur to knock it out.
The PC should boot to the BIOS with everything unplugged in the System. Try to re-seat the Display Card first if not, unplug the Hard Drive to see if that is causing the issue. If you have an On-Board Video... pull the Display Card to see if you get a Boot.
    Pull Modem as well...
If it were Memory you would get a beep. Wouldn't hurt to clean and re-seat Mem as well while your in there. Dust does cause errors because of poor connections. :)

Green light comes on and the fan but monitor will not

    Hello.

Could be the monitor or your Presario's VGA card. Swap the monitor with another system to see where the problem lies. If another monitor works on your system , it's your monitor. If another monitor doesn't work, then the problem is the VGA card.

    Hope this helps.

    No display

After all your troubleshooting, I think this is likely to be as a result of your processor over-heating, maybe because of your environment, or because the fan is not cooling the processor properly again. Therefore my suggestion would be for you to unscrew your system (If you can do it by yourself), and try to clean, or better still replace your processor fan.
If you cant do it by yourself, you can easily get a technician to do it for you. This solution is actually if your processor is not yet burnt.
But if your processor is burnt, then you might have to change it to a new compatible one. but before changing it, try to test the motherboard with another working, compatible processor first, just to be more sure.
Then always make sure that your PC is in a well ventilated, cool environment and that the environment is free from dusts.
    Hope this helps you out.
    Goodluck!
