The S video cords connect your DVD player to the Television. It replaces the audio video cords normally needed to connect a DVD player. There is a definite spot on the back of the television next to the audio video ports. Once the DVD player is connected to the television, you should have a Video 1 or a TV/DVD option on your remote. Hope this clears things up a bit. Post back with any other questions. All the best!

I apologize, I didn't read the question correctly. You still hook up the S-video cord the same way you would a DVD player. Here is a picture with the back of your television. I've circled the S-video jack for you.

Your saying S video this is a cable with small little prongs single cable and not the red yellow white cable, I would go get the RCA cable and put it on Video mode as your tv may not have a S video connection if it does there is a S-video mode and you can use the channel up key until it says Svideo.. if not use the RED/Blck/White ones and put it on video and your are taken care off good luck!!

I installed a vga cord and a audio cord from my dell computer to the tv but nothing happens

Are the cords (cables) in good condition? Will they work in other situations? You may need to make adjustments in the computer control panel.

I have a 42 inch maxent but i dont know where to plug my cable cord because i have a comcast box and theres no where in the t.v to plug my cable cord

If your comcast box has video (yellow), audio R (Red), audio L (White) out, just connect RC cables to the input of the TV at video, audio-in RC Jacks. If your comcast box has only RF out, buy one RF to audio-video converter and then connect these to the TV.

I cannot hear any sound from my Dell monitor 1702FP. Are there speakers installed within the monitor?. VGA cable is connected. When I use a spare monitor using the VGA cable the sound is loud and clear. ...

The Dell 1702FP doesn't have speakers. The specs of the Dell 1702FP are available here: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/monitors/1702fp/en/specs.htm . (BTW neither does the Dell 1704FPT.) However, some Dell monitors can have a sound bar (speaker set-up) mounted on the monitor.

VGA cables don't carry sound. Check if a second cable (an audio patch cable is connected to the computer and the second monitor). (There are some cables that actually bundle the 3.5 mm patch cable with the video cable for convenience. (I've seen a number of DVI cables with that bundle option.) The plugs will separate into separate units at each end.

Other monitors do have speakers built in - look for a 3.5 mm audio input jack with the rest of the input connections on your monitor. There are some monitors that accept an HDMI input with a 3.5 mm audio out jack; these monitors don't have speakers and thus are enabling a daisy chain to connect the speakers to the monitor. So you do need to be careful and look for the audio in label.

You can attach a set of speakers to your computer using the audio out (look for a lime green 3.5 mm jack on the back of a desktop). For laptops or to use the front audio ports, look for a headphone jack.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with more information about your monitor and computer for additional assistance.

My tv says invalid format when I plug my dell inspiron into it

Sounds like you may need to check your video drivers for an update, besides Windows itself find out what video you have Intel or Amd and update thru their website. It can also be that your tv is running at a resolution that your laptop might not support. However most new video drivers allow for custom resolution settings that can be applied besides the native ones in windows. If its a vga cable I almost can be certain that it is not allowing the native resolution of your display.Hdmi will automatically adjust it.Also try hooking the laptop up to a Pc monitor and check for a display if it works on the monitor you need a custom resolution for your tv. Also try a different input on the tv (if ones available) and check it.

My girlfriends computer did this a lot. What we did and I don't know if it would work for you was to use the HDMI cord (obviously your laptop has to have an HDMI). The S-Video cord was very tricky to keep it from going black we had to mess with the cord a lot!

Dell m992 crt monitor

If it's getting no signal, make sure the monitor is set for the correct input. This would be either analog (if your cord has blue ends) or digital (if the connectors are white). Depending on wt yhat your monitor is, a button on the monitor will help you set that. If it's set for the correct input signal, then switch out a different cable to see if perchance you have a bad cable out of the box. If there is another PC or laptop setting around, plug your monitor into that to make sure it's good and maybe even plug THAT monitor into yours to make sure there is nothing wrong with your video card. Let me know what transpires. If this takes care of things, please help me out by rating it accordingly.

Out Put on Television

First thing you have to change which monitor is the main monitor it can only play the video on one monitor at a time depending on your video settings. Secondly with audio you will need a 3.5mm to RCA/composite audio cable to get sound on your tv. Enjoy and please take a moment to rate my solution Fixya.
Thanks,

Connecting plasma tv to pc

You need to either connect to the TV the cord that your computer monitor would connect to or have a video card that supports S-Video and the appropriate cables S-Video and RCA audio out cables for either.

Then you must select the appropriate input on your TV, such as VGA or S-Video (and audio in.) .

Let us know how you make out.
