Back up OE and your contacts and emails and reinstall would be the only solutions because you got something corupt in the registery.. OE 6 is old and would need a upgrade anywys so you may want to download the upgrade while your at it.

Thanks and rate nice please

Outlook Express data missing.

Offer several options.
1 As the .dbx file for the account has been lost, then you need a data recovery software to recover back that .dbx file. As the email recovery software comes into action when you have an .dbx file where the email recovery software can scan that file and then extract emails from that.
Your case is different, you have lost your .dbx file which means you cannot retrieve your emails.
To recover the .DBX file, through OE-Mail Recovery http://www.oemailrecovery.com/outlook-express-recovery.html
This data recovery software recoveres every file which was recently deleted or was deleted long time back. It can also recover files if your partition has been formatted, deleted or recreated.

Give it a try as it had helped me when the same case happened with me when i had lost my .dbx files.
2 You may need to unhide hidden files to see them. Open Windows Explorer folder and select Tools > Folders Options > View. Check "Show hidden files and folders". Click OK.

Try also to restore the file using this online service. I found it in Google. https://onlinefilerepair.com/en/outlookexpress-repair-online.html

Message recall

Outlook Express 6 was intended as a way to download your mail and view it locally on the computer its used on. In most cases mail accessed with Outlook Express was done so using POP account settings, resulting in the mail being deleted off the main mail server (in your case, verizon) and leaving only the copy of that email sitting on your computer in Outlook Express.
Of course if you were using more customized mail settings, its possible to keep the mail from being deleted from the server and have access to it from other computers or being logging into your mail account through a web browser like Firefox or Chrome, etc.
So to answer your question... If the email still exists on the server (verizon) then yes it can be done. But then accessing your account via the web would be far easier than doing it with Outlook Express.
On the other hand, if the email cannot be seen on your verizon account online, then accessing it with Outlook Express will not be possible. If its not there, its not there.

If the email physically exists on your computer in Outlook Express, then regardless of the account it was received through, it should still be there. If you changed your computer logon information, you might have inadvertently switched identities, resulting in your mail appearing to be gone. It could still be safe and sound, but hiding under another mail identity. You can find this by looking in your menu in Outlook Express for switching identities. If you see more than one identity available, switch to another and look for your mail.

I hope this helps.

Outlook express is full snd I can't delete anything

Seek out the file Deleted Items.dbx and then delete this file. It has probably become corrupted. It will be recreated the next time it is needed.

Hi All

if you are running XP then open up explorer and go to

C:\Documents and Settings\*your user name*\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{65C0EAFC-BB65-4A91-A733-2B5FA75AFB49}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

then delete outbox.dbx (Make sure outlook express is closed)

then start Outlook Express and try to send an e-mail again.

Hi,

Most likely there is a email with a virus in one of your outlook express folders. Download a 30 day trial of Kaspersky internet security and run a full scan on your computer.

Alternatively, you could try creating a new Identity in outlook express, only problem is you wont be able to access your old emails. But you can always switch back and forth. To do this Click on File – Identities – Manage Identities. Here you can create a new one and configure your email settings. Though this may work, this may only be a temporary solution.

Hope this helps. Please rate your feedback!
Thanks,

Outlook express 6.0 outbox problems

This is a common problem with outlook express. The files have become too large for outlook express. I recommend blowing out all the emails. Try first empty the deleted items. If it will not delete. You need to find the folder associated with this identity. That would be in C drive then documents and settings then your username then application data (hidden folder) then identities. There will be a folder with a crazy name of numbers and letters. Go into this folder and you will see your inbox folder and outbox, sent box etc. Delete the folders that you dont have important emails in and this will dump that whole box. Make sure outlook express is closed when you do this. When you reopen outlook express it will recreate these folders empty. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

I am unable to open Outlook Express 2003

What you need to do is go to 'my computer' then right click on 'C Drive' then click on 'Search'.
Look for a folder named 'identities' - it is hidden so don't forget to mark 'search for hidden files' as well.
It should find the identities folder under application data or something like that.
Anyhow, under identities youl find a string of letters and numbers (another folder), double click and get into it all the way to outlook express... under outlook express you should see all your outlook express folder (like inbox, sent items and outbox).
If the problem is with the outbox just delete it and rerun outlook express, it should recreate that folder.
Good luck.
Hopefully it was informative enough for you to rate my response,
Thank you for using agadycom.

Outlook express outbox is stuck in 'sending' mode

More than likely, you'll need to delete the outbox.dbx file located in the following location:

C:\Documents and Settings\***you user name***\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{***LONG SET OF NUMBERS}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

You will find the outbox.dbx in that directory.. Delete it, and you're good to go!
