Yes, though you won't get all the features you would with a Nikon flash unit.

Which of the following Vivitar flashes will work on a nikon D5100? Vivitar auto thyristor 2800 or vivitar electronic flash 1900?

they should both fire, but they were not meant for modern digital cameras, and the auto features the the camera may have won't be able to control this flash. so it just a manual strobe, to set your camera on manual and experiment.

that little pin on the bottom as well as the 2 on the inside of the flash shoe should fire the flash.

good luck.

You could buy one with Amazon for 11 dollar.
Be aware the lens is complete manual and possible very difficult to use, because toy have to set everything by hand. (lens and camera)

Sirius Mc 80-200 lens. Compatibility issue. I have

Sirius makes lenses with a variety of lens mounts. If the lens has a Nikon mount then it will fit on your D5100. However it will not autofocus, nor will the camera be able to set the exposure. In fact the exposure meter won't work at all, and you'll have to shoot in the Manual mode (turn the mode dial to M).

Is adding grip for nikon d5100 solve the problem of auto focus with sigma 170-500 lens

No. This lens lacks an autofocus motor, relying on the camera to have one. The D5100 lacks an autofocus motor, relying on the lens to have one. Adding a battery grip does not change this situation.

The D5100 only autofocuses with lenses having an internal autofocus motor. Nikon designates such lenses AF-S, Sigma calls it HSM. Lenses without the motor will only autofocus with the larger and heavier Nikon cameras such as the D7000.

Nikon D5100 vs Nikon D3200

They both take superb pictures. The D3200 is slightly easier to learn how to use, while the D5100 is easier to use once you learn it. That is, the D3200's menus will guide you through all its settings, while with the D5100 you can change those settings with less work once you learn the proper buttons to push. The D3200 has a higher resolution, but even the D5100 will take photos that can be enlarged to 8x10 and larger.

I suggest you go to a good camera store and try them both out. See which one better fits your hands. You don't want to buy a camera based on specs, or other people's opinions. You want a camera that best works for YOU. Having said that, the D3200 is probably a better first SLR. However, try them both out and choose the one that's better for YOU.

Can I use Quantaray AF 28-90mm f/3.5-5.6 in a NIKON D5100? Thanks.

Quantaray makes lenses with a variety of mounts for a variety of cameras. A lens with a Sony mount, for example, will not fit onto a Nikon camera. Assuming the lens has a Nikon mount, it will fit on the D5100. However, the D5100 requires the lens to have an autofocus motor. If the lens does not have such a motor then it will not autofocus. It will still work fine as a manual focus lens.

Will the Vivitar SI 70-210 mount on my Nikon D90. Will the AF work properly? Thanks

Vivitar makes lenses for a variety of cameras, so a lens for a Canon, for example, will not fit onto a Nikon. Assuming the Vivitar lens has a Nikon mount, then yes, it will mount on the D90 and yes, it will autofocus properly on the D90.
