Question about Canon PIXMA MP530 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Sounds like a failed circuit on the new cartridge, or a dirty contact.
First wipe down the contacts with a q-ip and a drop or two or rubbing alcohol. then allow a coupe minutes to airdry and try them again.
If this wirks the contacts are likely just dirty, if you still get the error message then chances are you got a dud cartridge. I know the owner of the company that supplies the staples branded cartidges personally and know their fail rate is extremely low, but extremely low still means something like 1 in 200 are duds.
If cleaning the copper contacts doesn't work simply pack it back up and take it to staples with your reciept they will be happy to exchange it. Statistically your odds of getting two duds in a row are about 40000 to one, so you have a very good chance the next one will be fine. If you do get another dud, stop at the lottery stand on the way back to staples. ;)
Hope this helps FixYa,
