MET8665XS00 will not turn on

Was boiling water when the range circuit breaker popped. Tripped the breaker back on and tried on a different element, but the breaker tripped again. I think I found the problem of why the breaker was tripping, but now the range will not turn back on. I've flipped the breaker back and everything is plugged in. Help!

Check to see if there are any terminations from the breaker to the range...could have come loose. You will probably need to check the voltage @ the breaker & make sure it is feeding out. Also pull you range & check the back terminations for tightness.

SOURCE: Whirpool Range suddenly tripping the circuit breaker

It could be one of the elements is shorting out causing the breaker to trip. Try using one burner at a time to see which one causes the short.

How fix blown element on Electrolux induction range?

If it's a year old and under a 5 year warranty then it will be covered under the warranty and shouldn't cost you a dime. If it happens again then speak to someone about getting a different range since you may have received a lemon.

The broiler is a different element. Sounds like your main (bottom) element is out. Turn off breaker and remove. To test, use an ohm meter and ohm out the element. If yuor meter reads 0 or OL (open load) your element needs to be replaced.

No hot water

Electric water heater can be repaired by homeowner.

Four things can cause NO hot water:
1) ECO red reset button tripped. Remove top cover on water heater, push red reset button on thermostat. Put insulation and cover back over thermostat.
2) Circuit breaker is tripped, circuit breaker bad, or wire loose in breaker box. Turn breaker on-off and listen for crackling or fizzing sound, and burned smell. Test breaker for 220Volts. Test top two screws on upper thermostat to see if water heater has electricity.
3) Bad upper thermostat. Replace upper thermostat.

Sounds like a shorted wire or something grounding.
Slide out range and unplug and take off bake and look around for a short either at the bake or broil element ot at the terminal where the cord connects.

FRIDGIDAIRE RANGE

It is most likely the pop came from a relay on the control board if the elements checked ok but not getting power to them. This is fairly common on fridgidaire ranges. Replace the oven control. Usually the control overlay is sold as a separate piece.
