Sharp AL1631 Copier Intermittent Problem
I have an intermittent problem with my copier. Sometimes when I turn it on the Ready Light above the Copy Button keeps blinking and there is a very faint clicking sound. The copier does not respond to the Copy Button. There is no error code in the display. It just sits there in this mode until I turn it off. Sometimes when I turn it on it works like it is supposed to.
I have recently replaced the toner cartridge but it did this before replacement too.

- The machine has a loud clicking sound, different from the toner clicking sound, it sounds like a gear might be slipping, then the paper gets jammed in the drum area. We have replaced the toner cartridge.- conpedBest Solution

There are several reasons this could be happening.
1. If you are not using Sharp Genuine products
2. The toner cartridge might not be fully seated
3. Voltage for the specified plug may be incorrect voltage or overloaded.
The faint clicking sound is most likely the machine stirring toner. I have seen where a sensor that detects toner level inside the developer unit get covered in a sludge, but if you just replaced the TD unit it should be okay.
