You can not remove the reservoir because if you clean it out with a hot soapy spange or rag. turn the frier over and remove the plate you will see why the reservoir wont come out.

Does the interior aluminum pot actually come out of the fryer for cleaning? I have not been able to make it come out, although it seems that it should.
