Turn the breaker off first.
You'll have to take the fan down and of course disconnect the wires. I run into this a lot. What I do is take a razor knife and cut carefully into the ceiling on the side of the box, Then connect the wires from the box to the remote module with wire nuts. I always wrap them in a couple turns of eletricians tape.
Then connect the long wires to the other end of the module and push it up through the slot I cut out and lay it flat on the top side of the ceiling.
When you put it back together the part that goes against the ceiling will cover the hole in the sheet rock. Pain in the rear, huh?

Installing a Hampton Bay Trieste ceiling fan, and I don't know where to locate the remote receiver. It doesn't seem to fit in the canopy or the fan base. It is rectangle shaped about the size

If it's a thin rectangular receiver (probably has UC7067 printed on it) It "slides" into the mounting bracket up by the electrical box. If this doesn't help you can call toll free 1-866-600-3267 at http://www.fanmanlighting.com/default.asp and ask for Jack Jr

Where can I find a remote control for Hampton Bay Model # UC7078T?

As far as I know, the kits sold at Home Depot that are labeled "Hampton Bay" should work on any of their models. The critical point is making sure the receiver module fits in the ceiling mount -- and I've never had a case where it hasn't fit. In any case, it's a mounting issue and not a fan model issue.

My usual challenge is knowing which orientation to place the module into the mount. I've found that in most (if not all) cases, holding the bigger end with my right hand and having the flat part facing up fits nicely. (The antenna will be on the leading edge, so guide it through the mount.)

Hampton bay fan model 761 567 running faster on

Your issue is most likely a faulty speed control. The part is integral to the remote receiver in the fan housing. You can purchase spare parts for this fan through Home Depot (Hampton Bay) Service at 800-654-0688.

The receiver is located in the upper portion of the housing for the fan motor. Look for a semi-circular black control box (usually manufactured by Rhine)

This symptom is usually caused by either a bad receiver or bad transmitter. Install a new remote system (receiver & transmitter).

I have the same problem and I notice that the fan goes in reverse when I turn off and back on. I have not found the solution yet but I would say that the remote has factory defects.

Remote vs receiver problem.

This is one of the best solution to do, look for unit who have same model as your unit( to your friends or neighbors) and test your remote control. If it work in another unit with same model then the remote control is defective, but if it works then its the receiver.

But try this solution first, if there is a reset button in your remote try to reset it then try the remote to your unit.
