Question about Acer Computers & Internet
I turned on my PC after not using it for about a week or so, and found that I couldn't open any files/folders in 'my documents'. I am not currently with internet access, however I should still be able to use my PC offline for such things as Word, Excel etc, correct?? Also, I've tried again to see what I could open after rebooting many times, and now all I get is a blank blue screen!! I cannot even login or anything anymore! Please HELP!!!
Try booting into Safe Mode. You can do this by rebooting your computer. As soon as it turns on, you should see some kind of splash screen or logo like "Acer" or "Dell". When you see this, start tapping the F8 key about twice each second. Hopefully, you'll get the Boot menu for Windows. Select "Safe mode" from the list and see if it boots properly. If it does, then you have a software issue like a virus, bad drivers, or faulty software installed. If it won't boot into Safe Mode, you may have a compromised operating system or failing hard drive. Give that a try and see what happens.
