Question about JVC KD-G140 Car CD Player
I have a 99 Dodge Ram 2500 and I installed the stereo myself. It worked for about a month and then all of a sudden when I was driving the sound just shut off. Then every once in a while when I started my truck the sound would be back on. And the other times it would not work. Eventually it just stopped working all together, but the power was still on. All fuses are fine in the truck and back of stereo. Also I have a 4 yr warranty from bestbuy and was wondering if they would look at it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Check the memory circuit.the usually yellow wire with the small fuse.the best thing is take it out and see if it runs on a bench.there are 2 voltages to turn on the unit,12volt main power, and memory which must be constant power otherwise the clock and the memory for the stations will reset.check the ground and all the wiring.also the factory fuse may be cracked or intermittent.i have seen intermittent fuses especially 3ag types where the fuse breaks at the cap,and the part you see through the glass looks fine.
