Question about Loewe Aconda ACO9303 30" TV

2 Answers

Aconda 9383 cycling on and off.

Replaced the flyback transformer with no success. A clicking noise can definitely be heard at the front where the on/off button is. I checked the 6V fuse and it is fine. Whatever the problem is I will have to repair it myself. I'm capable as long as it's not too involved.

I ordered the part from Loewe, so I was assuming that it was already calibrated for the specific TV. When I replaced it I got the same results from the TV, i.e. cyling on/off. Thanks for the help.

How can the transformer be adjusted? If this needs to be done by installing it and adjusting other devices on the board I'm questoning whether I'll be able to do this. If we ASSUME that the flyback is correctly set is there a 5V standby transformer on a board behind the front panel that I can replace. I do recall seeing a comment from the past referring to this as a potential cause for the same problem. The repair manual does not show a transformer on that control board though.

Okay you replaced the flyback but did you check and see if that flyback has the same exact votage and polarity as the old one and they can range by version of TV see many models have diffrent version and yes it can get complicated since you have limited resources on the repair..

On the flyback transformer adjust the pots on the focus block to be in the centre, you can readjust if you get the set going.

Is the clicking noise there as the lights change from red to green and back again?

Check your brown whitman fuses.
Check all areas for dry joints especially near the LOPT.

Check impedance across Q524, if short power supply kit needed.

To check Power supply,Remove chassis, lift two legs of opto coupler (i669) nearest the heat sink, put 1.8K resistor across. Remove L534.
Put light bulb across C651, put mains onto middle two pins of Bridge rectifier (D613) if power supply is good lamp will run forever.

Hope this helps!

I own a GE 31gt740 and I heard a squealing noise a few times, but TV still worked. Then, I turned it on one day, heard the squealing noise, then saw a little smoke, some crackling, and no sound or picture....

I think that the problem of your tv is the flyback transformer. The noise you are hearing is the high voltage, it is leaking from the flyback transformer. The smoke you see may came from the flyback or the capacitor. To be sure to the problem, try to remove the back cover of your tv but be sure to unplug it. Try to plug it, then turn on your tv but you should turn of the light so you could see the high voltage that is leaking but be very careful when doing it.

When I push the power button on the red light turn on and then I use the remote to turn the tv on the green light turn on and then it clicks off the screen stays black it just clicks off when I try to turn...

I know these sets, did a lot of work on them when new and under extended warranty.

Two common problems:

With the back off look at the black transformer to the right with a big red wire that goes up to the bell of the picture tube: lots of these will arc at the top left side of the part--if you turn the set on and see a brief spark there the Flyback transformer is bad.

These are quite affordable and fairly easy to replace.

The second problem they have is there are about a dozen brown caps in front of the Flyback and one of them "opens" not a short but if it opens voltage etc go up and set shuts down.

8 out of ten times it is the Flyback.

Look closely at the white label on the left side of the flyback--the part number is there!

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

I have not seen many of these sets lately but still have the 3 new remotes my shop gave me.

Sony KT-T25SF8 Dead, no video or audio, low level clicking noise

Most likly the Horizontal output transistor has shorted out because of cold solder connections on the flyback transformer, and or a bad capacitor in the sweep power supply and or, a bad flyback transformer. If the set Did not blow the fuse, then mopst likly you will have a problem in the main power supply where several parts in a kit form has and should be replaced all together.

36" RCA- loud whine/squeal when it is plugged in, otherwise no power.

The HOT Hortz output transistor has gone home, 99% of the time from a faulty IVHT (Flyback Transformer), very common on the ctc187cl* chassis. The factory Flyback is no longer available, I have had problems finding an aftermarket one to replace it with.

The HOT is a BUH517, but you can also use a 2SD5129. It is the transistor mounted on the siler heat sink with a metal clip rather than a screw, just in front of the flyback.....

If you replace just the HOT, most of the time you will get a rapid arc (27,000volts - BE CAREFUL!!!) from the lower (yoke) post on the flyback. If the flyback is shorted, It may also just burn out the HOT and go right back to "squealing"....

Good luck finding the flyback!!!

RCA 31" TV pakes high pitched chirping noise

Did you check the Horizontal Output transistor to see if it were shorted, and also check the MOSFET of the switching power supply.
