Go to menu option and choose the option fax and set the parameter like auto receive or manual set the ring auto answer mode after certain ring. If it is in auto receiving mode it will receive the fax after the ring which you set. Make sure the phone wire which you insert in fax machine getting proper dial tone and getting out going calling facility.

The document does not feed into the machine.
Be sure the document is not wrinkled, and you are putting it in correctly. Check that the document is the right size and not too thick or too thin. (See document types and sizes on page 43).
You cannot receive faxes automatically. Check if "TEL" appears on the right side of the display. In TEL mode, you
cannot receive a fax automatically. Be sure the handset is seated on the cradle properly.
The machine cannot receive faxes manually. Do not hang up the handset before pressing Start/Enter to receive a
fax.
The machine does not send anything. Check that the document is loaded face down. Send should show up
in the display after it dials. Check if the machine to which you are sending can receive your fax.

Change the receive MODE to Auto or Fax - there is a MODE button on the front panel, press it several times and observe the display.

check the mode of receving auto or mannual change the ring pattern.

It's probably been changed from "auto receive", to "manual receive", or "telephone" mode. Check settings in your manual.

Verify dial tone. Verify machine is set to "fax only" and auto - answer.

CONNECT POWER CODE TO FAX
ALSO CONNECT TELEPHONE LINE TO ITS POSITION.
THEN RESET YOUR FAX TO DEFAULT SETTINGS
SET AUTO RECEVING .

ALSO IF U HAVE PC WITH MODEM U CAN SEND AND RECEIVE FAX FROM IT.

check whether the auto answer is turned on...

either u have the button on the front panel of the printer itself "auto answer" or u will have it in the fax menu...

press the menu button and scroll down to fax setup or advanced fax setup, make sure the auto answer option is turned on....

CHECK 1.DO YOU GET DIAL TONE ON -ON HOOK DIAL BUTTON OR ON THE HANDSET ? IF NOT PLS CHECK THE PHONE LINE OTHERWISE--- 2.TRY RINGING THE MACHINE FROM OTHER PHONE,CAN U HEAR THE RING ? IF YES ,PLS CHECK WHAT NOS OF RINGS ,THE MACHINE IS SET TO RECEIVE, AS WELL AS SET THE CORRECT RECEIVE MODE , I.E. FAX /TEL/ANS-FAX... 3 IF U STILL DON'T GET FAX TONE WHILE RECEVING ,THEN TELEPHONE LINE CARD SHOULD BE BAD... TRY REPLACING TEH SAME ,SHOULD RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. HAPPY FAXING OMNIPRESENT HAPPY FAXING
