Yardman riding mower cutting uneven

I have a two year old Yardman riding mower with a 42 inch deck. All of a sudden it is not cutting evenly. In the past I have had no problems with getting a nice looking cut on my lawn. Now it is dragging in turns and not cutting evenly. I measured the outside edges of the deck today and found that one side is lower than the other. How can I fix this?

You need to park on a level area and lower the deck to it's lowest setting and adjust the deck with the large butterfly nuts on each side, just under the foot pan, just loosen and let the adjusters fall into place,Tighten back up and it should be set.

First thing I'd do is check the air in the tires. Typically you'll want 10 lbs in the back tires, 14 in the front.

Google: yardman riding lawn mower parts. Go to the ereplacement parts site. On the right side of the screen is a picture of a riding lawn mower. Click it. Yardman troubleshooting

I suggest that you should remove deck, turn upside down and place straight edge or tight string line over blades from outer edges of deck frame. Use the guide strips to get even measurement. Rotate blades and measure distance from straight edge to tips at both sides. they should be the same. If there is difference from one side to the other, either the blades are bent, or if each blade is same at each end but not aligned in centre (difference in height) then the spindles need packing to make them even. Check that bearings are not loose. If you do not understand this best to take it to service centre.

42 inch mower cuts uneven, what is the problem?

Several things here could be the problem. Check to see if mower deck is level, measure distance on both side on a level surface. Check tire's for low air. If you've replace the mandrel's lately, some have a left & right side & if not put back together properly this will cause uneven cutting

2003 DLT3000 Craftsman riding mower. Air in tires correct, deck level front/back & side/side, new blades.. Still cuts uneven. Does this deck flex when cutting tall grass & how do I fix this...

when you put the new blades on did you notice if they were even with each other? the 42" decks have a tendency to "warp" inward on the left side. this causes the left blade to ride at an angle to the right blade - there is a tool to correct this, but not all shops have it - sometimes you can remove the deck, flip it over and wallop the inside edge of the left mandrel until the blades are even - a 2 lb. sledge works well for this

Craftsman 42 inch riding lawn mower is not cutting evenly

The first thing to check is your blades. If one is bent, it will never cut even. It happens a lot hitting roots, antbeds, etc. Mulching blades will bend easier than a straight blade. It's best to take them off and lay one on top of the other to see if they're bent.
