1 Answer

Kenmore Elite Bottom Refer Internal leak

Small leak appears on the inside back wall of freezer. If the ice maker is turned off it stops. When ice maker is turned on it dribbls out. Looks like it coming out of the left side back vent or plastic panel help?

The first time it did it - I defrosted everything and re-set. This time I checked the filler tube [yes the end is in the filler cup] and there does not seem to be any water coming from the ice maker area. It drips out of the vent panel in the back surface of the inside of the freezer. Haven't pop'd that panel out yet to look. Can Ii?

How do you take it off? It i a white palen that is loose on the bottom and the two sides but looks like it is attached on the top. Do you just push it up to unhook? kinda bump it? Don't want to break it. It is the left one..

    thanks

Hi, look and make sure the inlet tube to the icemaker is inside the fill cup. Make sure there is no ice build up in the fill tube also.
I hope this helps some, please let me know if I can help further.

Thanks Vic

Yes you can remove the back panel. It would help you see if there is more ice building up behind it.

Leak from freezer into refridgerator, near the back.

You did not mention what Model and Make it is. That could change a fix.

Just a generic fix, assuming the unit its not too new, the first thing you want to do is turn the water off that is feeding your ice maker. Behind the refer on the wall. Be careful to not kink the water pipe pulling out and putting back the refer during your repair.

If stopping the leak into the refer was accomplished by turning off the water, now your confronted with how old is the refer and is it worth digging around and finding the actual leak. If the leak is in the wall of the refer (not the house wall), basically, just forget it, live with it and buy some ice trays. If you want the ice and it is really old, you may want to take this opportunity to replace the unit.

This would be my first assessment, not knowing age, make and model number. Sorry, wish I could be more helpful.

kindly,

Jim

What does ER FF mean on my Kenmore Elite bottom

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error ff is freezer fan fault. This usually happens when either the rear board has gone bad or the freezer fan itself is bad and needs to be replaced. To check what is causing the error you can start with checking the fan which is located behind the back wall inside the freezer. Also check the rear board as it might not be putting the fridge into defrost long enough and is causing the ice to build up in the freezer and thus stopping the freezer fan from turning and so causing ff error. Leave the fridge unplugged for 24hrs which will melt all the ice then plug it back if still the issue is not resolved and you hear the fan running then it is the rear board that needs to be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Refrigerator was making a 'Thump'' noise every so often and just stopped working. Freezer is still working It's a kenmore elite 3 door bottom freezer refrigerator model number 76539

Unplugging for an hour won't allow it to defrost if that is what the problem is.

Look inside the freezer at the back wall. Look for heavy accumulations of ice building on the cooling coil, which is behind the back wall panel. You may have to look in the louvers or past where the evap fan is located.

Once we know if there is heavy frost or ice there, we'll have a better idea how to resolve. Is there any warranty on this refrigerator that you know of, besides the 5 year compressor warranty?

Ice build up on bottom of freezer. Water leaks out of freezer possibly from melting. Water leaks onto floor of kitchen.

Your problem is possibly one of two things. The ice maker is leaking or the defrost tray behind the rear panel inside freezer back wall is clogged with ice or something else. If you know its not the ice maker unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel to see if the drain is blocked there, Let me know, Sea Breeze

Kenmore elite bottom freezer. Frost, Ice tray

The adjusta cube ice maker has an on/off switch. To stop the ice from overfilling and being knocked off when you open the freezer door turn the ice maker off and then back on as needed.

Ice maker not making ice

a few things, was the ice maker working before repair?? generally the ice maker need to "cool" before making ice, usually give 24 hrs to start producing ice. next perhaps the tech shut off water supply never turned back on??? bottom freezer, perhaps he had to remove the ice maker to remove the back wall of freezer and never reconnected wire harness to the back wall.

Kenmore elite - top freezer

if there is ice build up at the back wall of the freezer section, then you have a problem with your defrost cycle. the freezer would not be very cold for the ice maker to work.

it's either your timer, defrost heater or your bi-metal.

tnx 4 using fixya,
