Question about ViewSonic VPW505 50 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television
When turning on, it cuts off. Sometimes it turns on but freezes in the "wait mode" (hour glass displayed) or other modes (blank screen with input setting displayed) and will not shut off even when pressing the front panel power switch. At this point, the only way to shut it off is by then resetting the rear main power switch which puts the unit back on standby mode (yellow light in front panel). I continue trying to turn it on, (it could take a half an hour or longer) until it finally turns on. Once on, it stays on and works fine, unil it's shut off and have to start the process over.
Thanks for you advice.
Sounds like your tv is locking up. check with the manufacture to see if there is a software upgrade for this issue. otherwise you will have to replace the signal board (board with inputs) and/or the logic board (located undrneath the signal board). basically there is an lvds cable between the two board. when there is too much info comunicatd between the two the tv will lock up
